“Kubo” in full.

An original piece I composed for the Yamaha MONTAGE M7, performed live and filmed in Berlin. Every sound you hear is coming from MONTAGE.

Huge thanks to Yamaha Global, Yamaha Canada, Yamaha Music Europe, Yamaha Corporation of America, and the Yamaha team in Japan for the support and for helping make this project happen.

Really proud of how this one came together.

Full performance now up here and on YouTube. Link in bio.

How to: haul an Ampeg 810 through the city, play the orchestra gig, and still make it back to the studio - no dolly required.

Check out this video I made in collaboration with @yamahacanmusic

Here's a song I composed, produced and performed for @radialeng in celebration of over 25 years of their JDI Direct Box!

If you've ever performed on a stage or in the studio, so has the JDI.

All video was produced, directed and shot by my brother @jayleonardj with a special appearance by my band boys in @trilojay.

Captured at some of my favorite places on earth, @thewarehousestudio and @guiltandco and proudly performed on Yamaha gear.

Enjoy.

My second original piece with Yamaha, “Mr. Torakusu,” filmed in Berlin and performed on the MONTAGE M7.

Every sound you hear is coming directly from the MONTAGE, from the acoustic instruments to the synths and textures.

Big thanks to Yamaha Canada, Yamaha USA, Yamaha Japan and Yamaha Europe for making this project happen.

Six hours of careful work, condensed into 20 seconds.

This Yamaha P22 had every white keytop replaced after the original adhesive failed. Slow work, but seeing the finished keyboard makes it worthwhile.

One I've wanted to check off for a long time.

The Warehouse Studio.

A special place in Vancouver's music scene, and a pretty good place to spend time keeping a Yamaha C7 ready for the next session.
