DAY-3 Monday, July 28. We woke up to rain in Strasbourg, adjusted and did a 4 mile walking tour through the neighborhoods surrounding the city and ended up at the almost one thousand year old Gothic Strasbourgh Cathedral. In the afternoon we biked 36 km through the farmlands and ended our day at The Chef’s Table, the specialty restaurant on the boat.

Day-2 Sunday July 27. We biked 32 km, with lots of hills, in beautiful Alsace - the Germanic region of France - with its vineyards, wineries, and historic towns, Riquewihr (which inspired Beauty and the Beast) and Eguisheim; considered two of the most beautiful villages in France. We watched an Accordion Band perform, and in the afternoon we set sail on the AMAVIOLA, going through a few Locks on the Rhine River from Breisach, Germany to Strasbourg, France. taken in Alsace, France by @jsrmama

DAY-1 Saturday, July 26. We rode 🚴🏻‍♀️through Germany’s Black Forest and it was incredible! Thick forests, rolling hills and quaint German towns. The Black Forest is best known as the setting of Hansel and Gretel, and other fairy tales. It is also famous for Black Forest Cake which we had for dessert after our 36 km ride. After lunch, we boarded our floating home for the week, the AMAVIOLA.

Julianna posted this earlier today. It is a beautiful tribute to my Dad. Thank you Julianna, for expressing everything about him so perfectly!

We said goodbye to the best Papa last week. He was selfless, generous, and reliable - the true definition of loyalty and patience. Papa always showed up for our family in every way, whether it was driving hours in the rain to cheer my brothers and me on at our games, teaching us his love of travel, or encouraging us to never stop learning.

With a camera in hand he taught us how to capture and cherish the precious moments in life, preserving memories we’ll hold close forever. Papa set the gold standard for what it means to be a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. His love for my Nanny was unwavering, she was his entire world, and he truly lived out his vow of ‘in sickness and in health” every day for 64 years.
I’m so grateful for the 28 years I got to share with him. He was the heart of our family, his presence brought warmth and safety to every gathering and his unwavering love is what has held us together.
Rest In Peace Papa 🤍🕊️🕊️🤍. His Funeral is Wednesday, October 23, at Our Lady of the Lake, 10:30 Rosary, 11:00 Mass. by @jsrmama
