CYVASA 2.0 has completed its chapter @bleachfestival @hotagc ✨ but one chapter of a tale of two protagonists who poured all of themselves - spiritually, intellectually, culturally, psychologically, physically - into building a new world. This speculative act was the epicentre of a micro experience, while the macro reality of the eddying world around us reflected the lesser traits of humanity. A poetic epiphany: this is why we must make, make, make. To connect to what is important; to transport to another world in order to better understand this one. There’s more to say, which will come. Right now: complete enervation, a well of pride, excitement for the work’s future, enormous love for my collaborator and sister @ishvara.dev, and huge thanks for our legendary team @sage_arts_australia @redtornado_arts @metatesis_ @aleisajelbart @kbakenshake Mick, Lucy and @leebot73 🙏 terima kasih 🙏 we did it! 🤍

Huge thank you also to @fauxpreval who has been the most genuinely supportive presence since he floated into the Gold Coast last year. Thank you for giving CYVASA 2.0 this opportunity, Felix 🙏

Forever thank you too, to my darling parents who came to each of our shows this weekend and are very much the invisible support behind all that I am privileged to be able to do 🤍🤍 (please enjoy their absorbed and smiling faces in the audience in these photos 😍)

My dear friend Joel Benguigui @jsvisualdiaries has a gift for always capturing through photography all that I want to say in my work; here is no exception (merci Joel) x taken in HOTA, Home of the Arts by @jsvisualdiaries

A less seen image of my biological grandmother Nene. She sat here with us in the middle of the night after crossing the sea from Kupang to larantuka with my biological mother Maria, Clarita and my brother Andi.

I have documented my reconnection with my biological family since 2017.
My last visit to my biological mother Maria was in August 2023. She passed a few weeks after this last portrait of her smiling on the edge of her bed in Larantuka, Flores, East Indonesia.
This last image of Maria isn’t the end of this documentation I call Pulang (returning home) and I hope to be able to visit my brother in Paga NTT in the next year or so.
