They’re 13 today!! 🎂🥳 How are Sullivan & Charlotte 13? 🤯 These two are growing up fast! This is also the first birthday they’ve ever spent apart! This weekend I enjoyed lots of girl time with my beauties 💖💖💖 while the boys are in Tampa doing their thing! ☀️🏈 Sullivan & Charlotte light up lives! It’s been a while....
Not much has changed, yet everything has. I think we all know that feeling! Here’s a thought I just had to share...With Kevin & I both being self employed, there are many benefits, but sometimes it feels like even more challenges. I had a client one time tell me that what an example we’re setting for our children, everyday we work to provide for them and they will grow up seeing just how related the work and payoff is. The harder and more work we put in, the greater the reward, but when we take time off, the money and reward stops and the stress comes. Layla, being 15 going on 25, has always felt the worry more than a child should. She see how hard her daddy works and when he’s stressed and tired and we seem to be tight on finances, she can’t figure it out. Why? She even talked with her counselor about it. Thankfully, her counselor reassured her that these are adult concerns and not to be weighing on her, but she also told Layla that the occasional inconsistency of being self employed for her dad and I must be part of Gods plan! We may never understand his plan, but ultimately, it’s his will, his plan. I believe this! 🙏🏼❤️ This morning I have a day off from clients, the one day this week. Our pantry is empty (not really, but to a bunch of teenagers, “There’s nothing to eat!” 😩) So I just walked in with lots of groceries, I threw in some laundry, walked the dogs, and all the sudden noticed...I was humming and singing quietly, “You will be praised! You will be praised, Worthy are you Lord” ❤️🎼 I felt this feeling in my soul, this is his plan! The inconsistency of our career choices keep us always working hard, doing our part, but also keeping us dependent on our faith in God to see us through, it keeps us in prayer and in close relationship with Jesus. When one of us is struggling, we lift the other up with worship songs, scripture, prayer, sweet texts. 💞 Our way maker, our provider, our guide, our home and hearts are centered around The One who is in control! 🙏🏼 Thank you Holy Spirit for revealing this so clearly to me today! I will continue to sing your praises for you are worthy Lord! And I wouldn’t change a thing about our life! ❤️ by @jthornton_21
