Looking camp right in the eyes…

Totally surreal like looking through the looking glass.🪞

Mothered at the @cocorochamodelcamp, I was surrounded by industry titans, career models, and fashion & art enthusiasts. It was a weekend of study for me, I soaked everything up like the baby model I was. I was scouted for a photoshoot and that led to my first magazine publication 24 years ago. I wish I could share all this advice I’ve learned at camp to my younger self. When I came home to tell my mom of this insight, she told me to continue booking more jobs like she did for me all those years ago… mothered again. 😫😂 #filipinomoms

@jtintl8

J Theresa was born in Subic Bay, Zambales, Philippines to parents to who respectively call the Northern and Southern Philippines home. A trained scientist, she graduated cum laude with her BS in Biological Sciences and went on to complete her Masters of Public Health with high honors at the University of Southern California.

She is a fierce advocate for public health and enjoys policy work, having Senate Bill 852 successfully passed in the California Senate. She continued her public health work with the HLCC, under the California Health Collaborative, to promote health education surrounding tobacco, marijuana, and alcohol in Los Angeles County.

She currently works as a consultant in Health Information Technology, helping bring modern solutions to large statewide programs. As a New York native, she has fostered her entrepreneurial skills that she learned from her Lola to fund a variety of hobbies and projects. Now living in Virginia, she’s continuing to build her network to fulfill her dreams of expanding her efforts internationally.

Her advocacy for Public Health is a driving factor in her work, there is much economic equity and opportunities that can be achieved by helping improve the quality of life in others through a holistic manner. A farmer’s daughter, she has great love for her people and home country of the Philippines. In her travels, she has seen kapwa in action and is proud to continue to share her love for it as she enters The Miss Philippines - Virginia pageant. by @jtintl8
