Today marks 1 year since I had my last brain surgery.

I spent a lot of time reflecting and thinking about all the things I took for granted before this journey started. It’s crazy how sometimes you don’t realize how good you have it until parts of your life are taken away.

This year was full of pain, uncertainty, and what felt like endless frustration. I can’t count the number of days I felt like I was alone and making no progress, feeling that I was wasting my time. It definitely didn’t help that my doctors said the odds of me enjoying activities I used to love again were low and that I wouldn’t really have a chance at getting better. That the surgery was mainly just to stop things from getting worse.

I could have just accepted that as fact and done nothing. I could have let this whole situation make me bitter and become a victim to my situation. Or I could let it fuel me to become better.

I chose to be better and put in the work even if I felt like it got me no where at the time. But it did get me somewhere, just slower than I wanted. All those steps led me to where I am now.

Despite the odds, last weekend I completed my first Half Marathon and finished in 2 hours 52 minutes. I have been riding dirt bikes with the boys all spring and summer, making big enough strides to compete in 3 races this year so far. I may not be as fast as I used to be, but I still know how to have fun!

I am beyond blessed by the grace and strength the Lord has given me in my life. And I don’t think any of this would have been possible without the people He has placed in my life for support.

Bigger and better things are coming. The sky is the limit!

Most people who know me have heard my story once or twice. But I want to share it to help inspire those facing uncertainty in their lives. So for those who don’t know me or my story, here is a little context to this reel:

Between the ages of 3-5, my family and I faced a lot of uncertainty. During this time, I underwent 4 brain surgeries due to a condition called Chiari Malformation. I had multiple complications from the surgeries, including developing a Staph Infection in my brain. The odds were stacked against me of having a normal childhood, not to mention even living.

But God had other plans!

After living in the hospital for months and defying the odds, my family and I finally got to come home. However, the uncertainty didn’t stop there. I also had a syrinx (inflation of the spinal cord with fluid). It is to this day much larger than most syrynx that the doctors see in other patients. It extends from the top of my spinal cord all the way to the bottom. I have been told countless times that due to its size, it could cause paralysis or other serious complications. One can imagine the uncertainty and fear that brings on a day to day basis.

But God had other plans!

Besides having scoliosis, the occasional seizures, and migraines, I was blessed to have a pretty spectacular childhood and life to this day. From racing dirt bikes to hanging out with my friends and building a career, no one would ever guess I had gone through what I did. I thank God and my parents for that!

There is a lot more to this story, but I tell it in hopes of inspiring even one person to press on.

Facing the odds is never easy and definitely something I’ve done a lot. It would be easy to just sit back and live a mediocre life, but that’s not what we were created to be!

Never forget where you came from, but never let it hold you back from what you could be!

The squad was rolling deep through the woods today.

Grateful for the Missouri Mudders for letting us burn some trail in today.

Nothing more fulfilling than loading the truck up and making some memories.

Chapter 2 - March 2024

@vurbmoto and @gypsytalespodcast announced in December of 2023 that they were going to do a 500 minute fun-durance race in Mesquite, NV.

I half-jokingly sent it to our group chat saying we should drive out and ride it, to which everyone else agreed.

Aaron connected with @bigmxradio and somehow we ended up with an opportunity to go out…

So what’d we do?

Found an F-150 Rental truck with unlimited miles (sorry Budget), borrowed my grandpas trailer, loaded up 4 bikes and a pallet full of products and drove 28 hours straight to Nevada.

We forgot to book a hotel room once we got there, we had a 4 hour detour from a rockslide on I-70 and we were all tired of each other by the time we got there.

We practiced Friday, got the bikes dialed and kicked off the 8 hours of hell Saturday morning at 7:30am.

@james_lynch3 and @jtthompson200 swapped transponders for us faster than a nascar pit stop, changed our filters, hydrated us and helped with some encouraging smack talk.

@aboffroadrob brought out his jeep with every tool we could ask for under his awning to help out.

We wrapped up, packed up, showered and got about 5 hours of sleep before driving 25 hours back to HQ on Sunday.

I made it back for our Monday Meeting and went straight into work.

There’s too much to say about the last 72 hours so we will make it simple.

Thank you NYC and New Jersey for the killer weekend! The warm weather and pizza we had were great, but y’all can keep the crowded streets and traffic!

Don’t give up…

Never make the same mistake twice…

Only two of us actually had a bike two years ago.

Two bikes turned to 5.

5 bikes turned into a cross country trip to Nevada in a rental truck with unlimited miles (sorry to that rental company).

A cross country trip turned into us racing and riding over a summer.

Racing and riding over a summer turned into our first community ride day where 50 spots filled in less than a day.

That community ride day brought us to the 2025 Supercross/Motocross season with ClubMX.

A local track day turned into a vision…

For those that have helped, supported and been apart of this… we appreciate you more than you know.

To those we are going to meet… we can’t wait to RIP with ya!
