Space Untitled Art Gallery invites you to the opening of PERSONAE, a new solo exhibition by Anthony Ardavin—and the unveiling of an exciting new chapter in his artistic journey.

Inspired by John Singer Sargent’s intimate portraits of friends and loved ones, Ardavin turns his attention toward a single recurring muse. For the first time, the figure is no longer a supporting element within his surrealist worlds: he becomes the main event.

PERSONAE reveals a courageous new direction in Ardavin’s work through changes in style, subject and format. Moving from surrealism toward realism and embracing larger-scale canvases, the artist explores the human form with greater intimacy, presence and emotional depth.

Across the series, the same subject inhabits different identities, emotions and imagined realities. Each painting tells a distinct story while introducing an entirely new visual vocabulary to Ardavin’s practice.

The walls at Space Untitled are getting ready to tell two very different stories.

On October 8, The Collector’s Secret opens a door into the intimacy of collecting—objects discovered, treasured and kept for years, each carrying a history of its own.

Then, on November 5, PERSONAE takes us somewhere completely different. Anthony Ardavin introduces a new visual language where portraiture lives somewhere between reality and imagination.

🌿 POISON IVY — THROUGH JOE’S EYES.

This time, we wanted you to experience a Queer Men’s Empowerment Workshop from a different point of view — not ours, but one of our participants.

Meet Joe, who has been part of the Out My Closet community for almost two years. In this video, he takes us inside his experience at POISON IVY: Beyond the Bottle — from meeting his lab partner, to listening, learning, creating, and ultimately translating that connection into something uniquely personal.

Because this workshop was never really just about fragrance.

It was about what happens when two people are given the space to be curious about one another. To ask deeper questions. To listen with intention. To recognize pieces of someone else’s story — and create something inspired by how that person made them feel.

🧪 A lab partner became a collaborator.
🌿 Conversation became inspiration.
🧠 Memory and identity became ingredients.
🤝 And a fragrance became a reflection of human connection.

For Joe, and for so many of the men who joined us, POISON IVY was about the entire process — not simply what was created at the end.

This is what our Queer Men’s Empowerment Workshops are designed to do: create unexpected opportunities for queer men to connect beyond the surface, build community, and truly see one another.
