La exposición “Panorámica” de @juanarnabal , inaugurada en Yakarta, propone un recorrido donde paisaje, abstracción y experiencia se entrelazan. Lejos de una representación literal, la obra se construye desde la intuición, el color y una relación directa con los materiales.

En Yakarta la obra de @juanarnabal se despliega como un punto de inflexión: una transición desde el realismo hacia una exploración más abierta, donde el agua y la luz organizan la experiencia visual.

“Panorámica”, presentada en la Galería Nacional de Indonesia @galerinasional no sólo marca un cambio técnico —la incorporación de la acuarela— sino también una reformulación conceptual: la pintura como espacio de síntesis, intuición y desplazamiento.

On 4th June 2026, the Embassy of Uruguay, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Indonesia and the Indonesia Heritage Agency, officially inaugurated the Uruguayan Art Exhibition “Panorámica” at the National Gallery of Indonesia, in the framework of the celebrations of the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Uruguay and Indonesia.

During the opening ceremony, the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Indonesia, H.E. Prof. Dr. Fadli Zon M.Sc., the Minister of Education and Culture of Uruguay, José Carlos Mahia, (through video message), and the Ambassador of Uruguay in Indonesia, Cristina González, addressed the importance of culture and art in building bridges to promote mutual understanding among nations and peoples.
Featuring the works of Uruguayan visual artist Juan Manuel Rodríguez and photographer Luis Fabini, Panorámica invites visitors to explore diverse human perspectives of our relationship with nature. Discover Panoramica exhibition until 28th June in building D of National Gallery! by @juanarnabal

These recent paintings emerge from experimentation with watercolor: the play between pigment and water becomes the driving force. On large, soaked sheets of paper, the artist lays down rapid brushstrokes, then manipulates the resulting forms to shape evolving images. This process evokes Surrealist strategies, building imagery from suggestive, amorphous stains. The initial inspiration—abstracted views of a swimming pool and an aerial river landscape—already pointed toward water.
