Digital Agency. Let's make it better, together!
POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
If you work with GovCMS, you’ve probably come across a GitHub issue sitting patiently with the label “requires more community feedback/interest”.

Well, this could be your chance to give it some love ❤️

GovCMS is introducing GovCMS Campfires — community discussions designed to get people together around shared challenges, ideas and solutions that could be implemented quickly.

So if there’s a module you’ve requested, wanted, needed, quietly wished existed, or spotted languishing in the backlog, have a look through the issues and bring it along to the discussion.

🔥 Browse the GovCMS issues: https://github.com/govCMS/GovCMS/issues

We’ll certainly be interested to see what the community puts forward.

The messy middle. Every designer knows it but not everyone talks about it.

Jude is the official partner of Canberra's Friends of Figma community. At our next event, Beth Edwards from the Digital Transformation Agency (DTA) will be talking about design and the messy middle.

After Beth's presentation, our very own Millie Clery will join her for a Q&A-style conversation, digging a little deeper into the realities of design work and the things we learn along the way.

Whether you're a designer, developer, student, design nerd or curious about how good digital experiences come together, we'd love to see you there.

Civic Library, Mezzanine Room, Canberra
Thursday 22 October
6–8 pm

Come along, meet some good people and get involved in Canberra's design community. Or tag a friend that might be interested.

RSVP - Limited seats

We've always been friends. Now it's official. 🩷

Jude is officially a community partner of Friends of Figma Canberra!

We've always been big believers in the value of bringing creative and technical people together. The best ideas rarely happen in isolation, and Canberra has no shortage of talented people worth connecting.

So we're excited to support Friends of Figma Canberra in building a stronger, more connected local design community.

There'll be opportunities to learn from each other, share ideas, meet interesting people and get a little nerdy about the things we love.

And you don't have to be a Figma expert to join in. Designers, developers, students, curious minds and anyone interested in how good digital experiences come together are welcome.

We're looking forward to what's ahead.

Come join us and be part of it (its free): https://friends.figma.com/canberra/

Last Friday night the Jude crew accepted the 2026 Australian Good Design Award for their work on Nature Positive Matters.

It was such a special sight to have this significant project up on the big screen, in front of over 1000 people! Surrounded by so many inspiring examples of design making a real difference.

One award recipient said it best: "I feel so lucky that I get to design beautiful things, with good people, that do great things for the world." The team at Jude feel exactly the same way!

The evening was a reminder of how much good design can contribute to positive change to society. And, it was lovely to pause, celebrate our own achievement and share the moment with some of the people who helped make it happen.

We just won an Australian Good Design Award!

Nature Positive Matters has taken out a 2026 Australian Good Design Award in the Digital Design category for Web Design and Development. @GoodDesignAus

We built it for the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW) in partnership with Kirra Services, and we could not be prouder.

The brief was a tricky one. Nature positive is a complex and still emerging idea, and the private sector needed somewhere clear and practical to understand it and start taking action. Our job was to turn that complexity into something people could actually use, on a platform that can keep growing.

The jury called it "a clear, accessible and actionable digital experience", highlighting the inclusive user testing, the scalable design system and the way it guides people "from awareness through to meaningful engagement". They also recognised its part in building a collaborative ecosystem supporting Australia's transition to a nature-positive economy.
That's a big deal for a small Canberra team, and we're soaking it up.

To the Jude crew and everyone who helped bring Nature Positive Matters to life: this one is yours. Thank you.

Some of us are on the way to Sydney right now for tonight's ceremony. Expect photos.

Big digital transformation success relies on confident delivery. And that confidence gets built day-by-day, week-by-week, month-by-month.

We partnered with the Australian Digital Health Agency across some of Australia’s most complex digital health initiatives, including work supporting My Health Record and the delivery of a FHIR repository and health information exchange.

From delivery governance and strategic planning to coordinating vendors, risks and dependencies, our role was to help turn ambitious strategy into achievable delivery.

The bigger goal? Supporting a more connected, secure and accessible digital health ecosystem.

The steps have been stepped. The dollars have been raised. The results are in.

After a month of long walks, relentless leaderboard checking and some very serious competition, Jude’s STEPtember champions have been crowned.

🏆 Jeannie Panting is officially our top stepper with 425,422 steps.
🏆 Abbie Holbrook takes out top fundraiser with $302.70 raised.

Al came very close with 422,714 steps, which we’re sure he’s completely fine about. 😄

Thank you to everyone who donated, encouraged us, walked with us or tolerated us talking about our step counts for an entire month.

And congratulations Abbie and Jeannie. Bragging rights are officially yours. by @jude_digital

We won! The Jude crew need a trophy cabinet, because we're now Australian Women's Small Business Champions for 2026.

We were named winners on Saturday night and we couldn't be prouder.

Women make up less than a third of Australia's tech workforce.

At Jude, they're three-quarters of the team and half the founders. A lot of them are doing this work while raising families, and doing it in bodies that run on their own timetable. Some are even balancing it all with growing another human! And they're still the sharpest people we've ever worked with.

We didn't set out to be a women-led agency. What we set out to build was a place where the way women think, talk and manage their time is treated as normal, alongside the way men have always been allowed to. Turns out that's a very good way to run a tech company.

Saturday was a very uplifting night filled with stories of incredible women doing amazing things. We love being part of this better ecosystem, where women are hiring each other, sending each other work and showing up for each other. Let's get some more of that good stuff.

To our team, our clients and our partners: thank you. Suggestions for a good trophy cabinet welcome. 🩷

Moving house. Starting a business. Losing a job. Starting a family. Caring for someone.

These are the moments that send us into a chasm of digital services, across both government and the private sector.

And when we're trying to get something done in one of them, we often don't know who owns which bit of the process. Even when we've been through it before.

And we shouldn't really have to.

Yet many digital services still reflect how organisations or government departments are structured, rather than how people actually experience them.

That can mean finding the right starting point, understanding new terminology, navigating multiple websites and entering the same information more than once.

Great service design changes that. Start with the person. Understand what they're trying to achieve. Then make the business systems and processes work together behind the scenes.

So that people only have to tell their story once.

#ServiceDesign #CustomerExperience #DigitalGovernment Teal poster with the headline "Design around life — Not the org chart," surrounded by simple illustrations of life moments (family with child, pregnancy, baby, office worker, traveler, graduates, friends) and a "jude" logo to promote human-centered design. by @jude_digital

3 launches over 2 days = One very busy Jude team. 🚀

Last week there was a big couple of days for the Jude crew, with three government digital projects going live in the space of 48 hours.

NEMA
A new front-door with optimised storytelling, a new hub for resources and support, improved emergency-support wayfinding, and crisis-mode functionality with ABC emergency data integration ready when it’s needed.

IPSC
A refreshed website with clearer pathways for submitting official complaints, including a new eligibility checker to help people understand what to do next.

NZEA
A smarter search and filtering experience, and new components that let the team publish more dynamic and engaging content in the future.

Three very different projects, but there’s a common thread:
Making important government information and services easier for people to find, understand and use.

And behind all three? A whole lot of design, development, content, collaboration, testing, problem-solving and teamwork.

Huge congratulations to everyone across Jude who helped get these over the line. 🩷

We love a good Venn diagram.

Useful for strategy. Useful for explaining complex ideas. Useful for proving that Backstreet Boys and service designers have more in common than anyone expected.

Swipe for some highly scientific analysis from the Jude team.

And remember: strategy + creative = where the magic happens. ✨ by @jude_digital

Complex services need more than quick fixes.

For the Department of Defence, the Jude team explored a complex travel ecosystem through user research, discovery and co-design to uncover what was really getting in the way.

The result? A clearer path forward, grounded in evidence, shaped by users and built for continuous improvement.
