I'm looking back at past workshops that have inspired me throughout my quilting journey. I'm starting the year off re-charging with these teachings. For years I have taken courses and workshops from the best teachers in the modern quilting community in person and online, all of which have inspired me. I've been so lucky to have sat in those classes! It's been a minute since I've posted, I've been trying my hand at collage and gelli prints. I'm finding my way back to what I love the most. I begin this New Year off with a nod to #kristahennebury @ poppyprints, “Speed Date with Improv”, a zoom class I took with Krista in 2016! Thank you Krista for introducing this fun and fast improv technique, without over thinking, not having to square up while cutting free hand and without using a ruler! I hung this 8x8 piece that I made yesterday day to help me kick off 2026. Wishing everyone the best in 2026.

When this 10 year old asked for my help in making a quilt for her Mom's birthday, I was thrilled! Now I can post as it's been gifted. So proud of her for her perseverance, her geometry skills, tackling 1/4" seams and slaying precise rows where corners meet. She surprised her mom, turning 50 this year, with this very special heartfelt gift. Great job M! Thank you Laura Preston @vacilandoquiltingco for your fun pattern.

I have been slipping on both taking photos and posting them this year. Here's 2 of them. #1 was gifted to our college bound grandson, made from his grandpa's Levi's. How iconic, and suitable for a college dorm room, right? #2-3 was a birthday gift to my dear friend of 40 years. It seems coastal to me, perfect for someone who has a beautiful view of our stunning Pacific Ocean out her living room window year round. By now these quilts live happily with their rightful owners. ♥️

Back to home town with these two last weekend for our 55th high school reunion. Had the best time seeing everyone! enjoying what this beautiful area has to offer is always a plus. So fun going down memory lane with you all, class of '68!

This happened yesterday. Our grandson's highschool graduation. We're so proud of what this kid has accomplished already, besides being the kindest and most wonderful person. Next stop Oregon State Honors College. Congratulations N8! by @judemadeit

I'm ready for my next challenge, before finishing my last one. I'm going with these colors that I designed on Quilt Link for now, unless I change my mind; there are so many options! I'm looking forward to learning about risographs and how to make these lovely bold geometric designs. Thanks to Lucy and Jenny for offering this class!

My #improvtrianglesewalong project keeps evolving and I'm feeling happy about where it's leading me in this one. I love the work of Nicholas Ball @quiltsfromtheattic , I'm a huge fan! I highly recommend his book, "inspiring Improv". It truly is. I enjoy improv quilts the most and learning how to approach the different techniques. We have 1more week of instruction but not necessarily a finish for mine.🧐 by @judemadeit
