FOR THE PLOT — EPISODE 1: Waverly Hills

Most people think adventure starts when something happens to you.

I’m starting to realize it starts when you pay attention.

I went looking for a trail and found a collection of stories instead.

A man standing quietly at the water’s edge, waiting on a fish that may never bite.

Birds moving through the trees like they had somewhere important to be.

The sound of leaves arguing with the wind.

Life happening without an audience.

Nobody knew I was there. Nobody posed for the camera. Nobody was trying to become a memory.

But somehow they did.

The fishermen reminded me that not everything worth having comes quickly.

The wildlife reminded me that purpose doesn’t need permission.

And the trail reminded me that sometimes the destination is just an excuse to keep moving.

It wasn’t about reaching the end of the hike.

It was about noticing the plot unfolding all around me.

And for once, I didn’t rush past it. by @judgedreadhead
