My God! I’ve read this Bible a few times and this verse has never stood out to me. Nor do I have any memory of it being covered in church. But today! I’m reminded that there is an end date, an appointed season for bondage, for learning, for growth. But when we graduate! When the truth becomes solidified and unshakable! Although I completed my degree last year, the official program graduation is only once per year (January was unofficial with my students; still very special to me). Birthdays are always so reflective for me. As I sit here just a few moments away from a new year, I’m filled with so much gratitude. Often times we spend so much time and attention running and becoming that we fail to notice how far we’ve come. I really took a rocky start, with limited resources, and turned it into something beautiful 🤯 🙏🏽 By the grace of God I built a safe, secure, loving, and peaceful life above and beyond my initial expectations.

This birthday though, it feels very different. Not like a new chapter but like a whole new book. Like the first book was about learning and stumbling my way through, sometimes in tears, sometimes in fear, but always forward. I’ve overcome a lot. Even still, I feel like I’m just getting started.

So much has been done for the betterment of my children and family, and that’s ok. But this next half is all about making sure that every bit of purpose and potential God has placed inside of me is expressed and utilized. I am more determined than ever to live full and die empty! Hopefully I can inspire and encourage someone else to do the same along the way. But If you ever thought I “do too much,” please prepare to be sick of me!
