It's a phenomenal show!Exploring the intersection of queer rights and women’s rights in the mid-1970s.What starts as an ordinary afternoon quickly gets out of hand when two longtime friends and neighbors revisit the past. Old stories, buried feelings, and a once-unspoken intimacy come rushing to the surface. Funny, fierce, full of joy, and reckoning. This beautiful story invites us to look at these ordinary afternoons that shape our lives. An Ordinary Afternoon in 1974, written by Obie and GLAAD Award winner, Daniel Maclvor (In On It, Never Swim Alone) and featuring Carla Briscoe (Blue Caprice, A Little Help) and Holly Cinnamon (Marvel's Daredevil, HBO's Succession) opened last week and audiences can't stop talking about it.#wlw#longislandcity#SupportTheArts by @judsonjones

Sweet boy.I write this with a devastated, broken heart. And while broken, my heart is so painfully thankful. It's thankful for every moment, every conversation shared, every snuggle taken, every bit of laughter, every glimpse into your world. I am so deeply thankful for all of it. And my heart is broken because I only want more. Our nephew, John Mark, left this mortal plane on March 27 at the age of 19. While we await the complete results of the cause, all things seem to point towards an infection that attacked his precious, beautiful heart. So many memories. I think about when you were a kid, so imaginative. Surrounded by books and stuffed animals, always full of story. You remember the Christmas puppet show you put on in your parents' backyard? You gave us all parts, complete with puppets. And there was the two-legged giraffe with a wheel instead of hind legs that you named Dos. It didn't have rhyme or reason, but somehow it made sense. And you always danced. I remember in Mexico when your Aunt Christa would hit the dance floor and there would be no one else but the two of you. You and Christa would dance and dance. And no matter how old you got, you were never too old or too cool to dance with her. At Cath and Jonah's wedding, with your sparklers, dancing nonstop. Like no one was watching. I remember your wonderful and strange obsession with The Golden Girls. I take credit for starting you on this path. I think it started with an odd Christmas gift. A Golden Girls t-shirt, followed by fleeces and blankets...and notepads.I want more. God, do I want more. Not just for me, but for everyone. I want more dances, I want more stories, I want more talks, I want more trips, I want more embraces, I want more. Oh, John Mark, you were so loved. You are so loved. Your grandparents couldn't get enough of you. Your sweet brother loved his baby brother. And your parents loved you more than you know. You grew up in a house full of love. So much laughter. So much joy. Bike rides and fire parties and sunsets and backyard music.I can still hear you. I can see your face as the flames flicker in the light of a campfire. I close my eyes, and I see you smiling at us all. by @judsonjones
