To empower a new era of entertainment, where creativity knows no bounds and bravery in artistic pursuit is championed.
POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
We’re proud to announce the signing of Verge 🤍

A rapper, producer and actor shaped between Durban, Richards Bay, Cape Town and now Johannesburg, Verge has been steadily carving a lane defined by introspection, rhythm, and intention. Beginning his journey as a producer, his sound evolved naturally from bedroom beats to a voice built to cut through the noise.

From the smooth, melodic textures of To Girls With Finesse to the grit and sharp lyricism of Lyrical Cardio (Vol. 1), and most recently the high-energy force of Louder Than Luck, Verge continues to refine his voice with range, purpose, and clarity.

Juggernaut Entertainment is excited to support and champion the next phase of his journey as he continues to evolve, reflect, and push forward.

Artistic Intent x Juggernaut Entertainment

We’re proud to announce the partnership joining Juggernaut as Media Partner and Artistic Intent as Creative Direction Partner respectively.

Built on years of collaboration between founders, Abongwe L. Booi and Thembalethu Hadebe, from live shows and podcasts with The Bowling Club to numerous commercial campaigns, a partnership that was earned long before it was announced.

That momentum led to Moya! A sold-out live experience by Vumaala, produced by Juggernaut and creatively directed by Artistic Intent, proving what happens when strong production meets intentional vision.

This marks a new chapter.

South Africa has already proved it can build science-fiction worlds.

The harder question is who gets to imagine them.

In Abongwe L. Booi’s The Last Insurgent, the country reaches 2042 under a totalitarian government increasingly shaped by foreign technology corporations.

Ntobeko Sishi plays Lethu Mashatile, an insurgent who wakes wounded on a battlefield surrounded by the bodies of his comrades.

The immediate question is whether he survives.

The larger one is about power.

Who controls technological progress?
Who makes decisions about a country’s future?
And what happens when the people living with those decisions no longer believe they have any power over them?

Booi’s ambition extends beyond the film itself.

South African crews have helped build major science-fiction productions before. He wants African filmmakers to have the creative and financial power to author those futures too.

The Last Insurgent is now being positioned for international festival circulation, with Booi hoping its world can eventually expand into a feature.

The future he imagines is frightening.

The right to imagine it from here is the point.

Tii'sC's - Film

What does the future of South Africa look like when the people lose control of their own destiny?

South African writer, director and producer Abongwe L. Booi explores that question in The Last Insurgent, an upcoming sci-fi short set in a dystopian South Africa in 2042.

Starring Ntobeko Sishi and Alex Biaya, the film follows a young rebel fighting for survival in a world shaped by corporate control, exploitation and political oppression.

LGL Thursdays, Episode 25: Sofar First Thursday at Black Betty

This week, Pilo got the night off. Sort of.

We handed the reins to Alex Biaya for our first-ever LGL Thursdays takeover, giving us a look at what a gig feels like from the other side of the mic.

The occasion? Sofar Cape Town's First Thursday at Black Betty Jewellery & Piercing Studio in Hout Bay, with Alex and Francesca Biancoli on the lineup.

We've always loved the Sofar concept. Small crowds, unexpected venues, and the chance to discover artists you might not otherwise come across. And this was another good one.

Alex clearly understood the assignment, getting the crowd involved and even catching his manager, Themba, showing off some moves. We see you, Themba. 👀

Massive thanks to Alex for taking over, and to Sofar Cape Town and Black Betty for having us.

Now... who should we hand the camera to next? 👀 taken in Black Betty by @juggernaut.entertainment

@abobooi has spent years building worlds through music videos, developing his language as a filmmaker through longstanding creative partnerships with artists @willlinleyy, @officialmanana, and @sishiiofficial - bringing their sonic stories to life on screen.

Now, he’s using that language to tell his own story. “The Last Insurgent,” Booi’s science fiction short film, serves as an introduction to a larger feature that focusses on loss, disenfranchisement, and the uncertainty of our future.
