Excited to get some time back to play guitar this weekend after the end of term. This is Lovestain by Jose Gonzalez. Lemme know what you think! Do you have a favorite JG tune? It finally clicked this weekend, as I came back to this one, that my count was off. I had been playing this for years as a 4/4 phrase situated on the down beat. But for those who geek out about this stuff, he made the repeated phrase a half beat short so it syncopates naturally on the second bar, by repeating on the and of 4 on bar one rather than on beat 1 of bar 2. It was a great lesson in how you can take a good riff and make it great by syncopating it. It also is just enough to offset the phrase so that it doesn’t become boring despite the repetition, keeping the listener’s interest. Similarly, I was confused by the ending but he actually comes in on the backbeat for the final phrase as well allowing for the quick transition to the fill and then out on the chorus. #fingerstyleguitar #daddariostrings #josegonzalez #acousticguitar #kysercapos by @jugglingom

Fun day out in London with my cuz Christian and his partner Kat. We took them to a traditional London pub for their first-ever British Sunday roast. Then we went ice skating in Hyde Park. I fell on my arse, but Peter was burning’ up that ice rink! Then we went for a nice ale in The Grenadier to warm up. by @jugglingom

Recently, I signed with a dream agent. What connected us was him liking the reel I sent him. That reel was created by @jugglingom . He did subtle, nuanced, fluid work, and created a reel that resonated with exactly what I’d artistically hoped for, with only ONE round of notes. Right now, he’s offering the genuinely unbelievable friends and family rate of $75 for reel work like this. If you’re looking ti tweak your footage, do yourself the favor of reaching out to Christian. (And yes, my reel is here in this post. Please feel free to watch— the proof is in the pudding!) by @jugglingom

It’s fun to see my own music show up in my iTunes library even though now it’s called the music app and iTunes is something different… or does it exist at all anymore? IDK the modern day is very confusing. Now to try to get the music into other people’s Music libraries! by @jugglingom

Here's my final project for Film Editing Pro's "The Art of Trailer Editing" course. Let me know your thoughts! . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . I found the lessons on organization, workflow, visual and sound design techniques incredibly helpful. They provide really detailed breakdowns of various creative elements utilized in drama vs comedy vs horror trailers, and give insight into getting started and how to whittle down which moments you decide to show and what you decide to hide from your audience. The technical sections on cheating dialogue and cobbling lines was such a small tidbit, but a really mind-blowing tool that can be used in any form of editing. It packs information into easily digestible videos and provides an amazing set of assets with which to practice cutting your first spec trailer. Well-worth the price IMO. *And this is not paid promotion* Just want to give credit where credit is due. Friday, I said, I wrote a song and I’m thinking about making a music video for it. Then, instead of thinking, I just made it. Friday: recorded song and taped it. Saturday: shot B-Roll, synced audio, made rough cut. Sunday: added additional stock footage, tweaked cut, color-graded. This morning: Titles, effects, transitions, final pass, and uploading. Lemme know what you think in the comments. Happy creating! Recorded in GarageBand using @wearefocusrite Scarlett Solo interface on @avalonguitarsofficial with @daddarioandco strings.
