And yes—it sold out! ✨ This was my first solo (duo) Concert (Pure Music Showcase) in the UK, and I am deeply grateful to my curator, producer, photographer, and creative colleague @xiaommmmmmin__ for believing in me and making this opportunity possible. 👁️ TAKE A GLIMPSE AT WHAT’S COMING TO HOXTON HALL THIS WEEKEND. 3 exhibition rooms. 9 films. 12 live performances. 2 days to experience it all. In response to, and in defiance of, William Faulkner’s 1924 poetry collection The Marble Faun, AS WE LAY DYING reflects on the struggles and hardships of life, and on what it means to devote oneself to a purpose until the final breath. It celebrates those who dare to dismantle the worlds they inherit and forge new ones. Their spirit of dedication persists beyond endings: restless, courageous and endlessly becoming. Across art, fashion, film, theatre, live performance and sound, each artist approaches these ideas in their own way. On 26–27 September, the festival takes over Hoxton Hall. ⬛ 26 SEP — EXHIBITION CHAPTER Three rooms, each with its own atmosphere: 📍 RETURNING TO THE GREEN ROOM May Scott Studio A cave-like space shaped by installation, low-frequency sound, responsive light and imagined non-human landscapes. 📍 BEFORE THE GESTURE Palmer Room Fashion and textile installations exploring the body, clothing, memory and domestic fantasy. 📍 IN THE THIN PLACE Reading Room Workshops, VR, ritual, live performance, painting, moving image and participatory works. Come for one programme or spend the day moving through all three spaces. ⬛ 27 SEP — THEATRE CHAPTER 🎭 On Sunday, the festival moves into Hoxton Hall’s Main Hall for nine films and twelve live performances. We begin with nothing— a silence, an empty space, a world not yet formed. And somehow, we end with fragments of ideas, illusions, signals, delicious ingredients, and possibilities we never planned. That is Cosmology in Recognition. We live in different worlds, carrying different histories, different sounds, different ways of seeking. And still, we are here together. There is no single right answer in our music. No wrong one either. No expectation of perfection. No certainty. No prediction. Perhaps there is too much freedom. Perhaps that is the point. Because within that freedom, something begins to appear: Recognition. And from recognition, Trust.Collision.Desire.Authority.Change. Perhaps that’s the magic of improvisation. We all take the lead. And we all release at one point. “Like two stars in orbit, two neighbouring cosmos, we abide different in similar worlds.” We hope to see you on Sunday, 27 September, at Hoxton Hall, as part of the As We Lay Dying Festival. 🟨 Theatre Chapter - As We Lay Dying To end this chapter, let’s welcome our music director Santi Lowe and Curator-Producer of the Festival Juice. @santilowe @juice_shuting Closing Performance: Revival-Juice Cui & Santi Lowe To close a funeral, let us return from the afterlife and listen for what remains. A collaboration between cellist Santi Lowe and Juice, working with melodica and electronics. Revival is a closing sonic ritual that moves beyond mourning and into the possibility of return. Through the fragile resonance of cello, the breath of melodica and shifting electronic textures, the performance traces a passage from stillness towards reawakening. Where Funeral Song lays something to rest, Revival asks what might emerge from the ashes. It creates a space for something lost to be felt again—not as a return to what was, but as a transformation into something new. They are also representing in the Dance Theatre and Opera: Cosmology in Recognition. Contributor: Juice and Santi are a London-based experimental duo working across electroacoustic performance, improvisation, and contemporary classical music. Combining spatial sound design, live electronics, and cello, their work explores the tension between structure and chaos, intimacy and noise, and immersive sonic storytelling.
