September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month & also Leukemia Awareness Month 💛. I've always been big on cancer awareness but never would I have thought it'd affect us personally. This has been the most heartbreaking season of my life but we're staying positive & strong for her 🧡! Sometimes I miss the old me, the one before childhood cancer entered our lives. At times I feel like I don't even remember exactly who I was before I entered survival mode. Life is completely different now, I can't go a day without thinking about the C word. Maybe someday I'll meet the old version of me but for now helping Juliana is my focus. I remember the 1st day we had to go the outpatient clinic, I felt like a nervous wreck but it ended up better than I expected 💗. We've gone a few times now & basically know how to get around most of the hospital. People in the hallways know us by name at times. When we go now it feels like seeing family. I am so grateful for all the doctors & nurses, also the child life specialists. Currently I'm trying to work on finding more ways to feel less anxious. Some moments I'm totally fine & the next I'm on the verge of tears but I always get up & remind myself that I need to keep going. Today another child in the clinic rung the bell & it made me smile. Maybe we're nowhere close to that yet but we will keep doing our best 💛. #HerFightIsMyFight #ParkRidge #Outpatient #Life #MovingForward by @juji41316
