some of my favorite shots of the year 🥳

as much as pictures and videos can be beautiful, they are just a captured moment in time, just a snap shot, a second, a glimpse. But only one that demonstrates a visual, and maybe some of an emotion. The rest is left to our imagination and much too often leads to a skewed interpretation, a judgment of assumption, the birth of yet another comparison, and over exaggeration that can lead to self destruction for lack of truth, reality, and truly being present. We can’t blame it on a particular someone or something, it’s something that affects everyone with the use of social media. It’s affected me, too much. The skills to socialize are warped because it’s all about the image, the perfect portrayal, the ideal presentation, the desire for fame, the idea that a good reputation can be built on a virtual platform. The rest is left to rot with lack of attention and nurturing and care. It just steals away from the realness of life, the life Jesus came to give and to give abundantly. And yet, I’ve let social media slowly sip it away, steal it away. Slowly, but definitely surely. Social media has sown a seed for gossip, a seed for jealousy, a seed for doubt, a seed for sadness, a seed for worry, a seed for questioning, questioning the truth. I don’t want to water it any more. I am incredibly blessed by all y’all, and ultimately blessed so much by Jesus! This year has been exquisite, so so much learning and so much wisdom and so much Kingdom, I couldn’t ask for life any other way 🤍
