Rejoining our offering, this coffee - Pantan Musara - is sourced from the Asman Gayo Mill in Sumatra’s coffee-famous Aceh region.

The mill serves to process coffee from several small-scale producers within the Pantan Musara villages. These producers were dislocated from their homes and land because of a natural disaster several years ago, and they have rebuilt their lives and farms with a new focus on coffee.

This year, we purchased both washed and natural processed lots. We roasted them to showcase the unique contrast between these two processing methods for Sumatran coffee.
Washed process Pantan Musara has juicy, crisp acidity reminiscent of pomelo with subtle earthy notes of spice and wildflower. Its toasted sweetness and creamy mouthfeel evoke almond butter.
Natural process Pantan Musara has a distinctive fruit character with a melting mouthfeel, reminding us of ripe mango or cooked pear. A hint of spice adds uniqueness to this coffee, resulting in a funky, yet elegant cup.

Although it’s not traceable to specific varieties, these lot likely include the most common varieties grown in Sumatra: Ateng, Bor Bor, Catimor, and Timor hybrids. This mix of local huge bean varieties deliver a unique, complex, and exciting flavour experience to you!

This lot, produced by Lazaro Escalante in the famous Huehuetenango region in Guatemala, has complex and structured acidity that reminds us of juicy white grape and cacao nibs, wrapped in jammy & sugary sweetness.
This season, Lazaro produced just 4 bags of 69kg coffee and we had the honour of buying all of them.

Sadly, we are reaching the end of this coffee - make sure to grab a bag before it’s gone!
