I thought I would share this wonderful memory. My husband was talking with dad this week and he told him that this was one of his proudest moments at work. August 1981. He was also long-time park keeper at Wendell Park. An absolutely wonderful trip to Paris, I lit a candle for dad’s birthday. We staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres. And we had a wonderful meal at La Petite Chaise. The puree de pomme will certainly linger in the memory. #paris #lapetitechaise taken in Paris, France by @jules9037

Happy Birthday? Yes, it was wonderful a few days at Hotel Endsleigh. I was so pleased to be back, it’s a beautiful hotel and the service and food are fantastic. It’s taken a week to recover. Nick graduated from Henley with an MBA with distinction. He dedicated his dissertation to dada, hence the Tricolour. Nick graduated 2 years behind his cohort since he had to take some time off studies to help care for dad. But he went back and finished the course. Dad would have been as proud and delighted for him as we are. Then Fiona McBurney arrived and insisted, wonderful cousin that she is, that we should run the Bushy park run with her. Run you say - nahh I will put on my Pilate bottoms and walk the course. Another fantastic week at Steephill Cove on the Isle of Wight. The weather was wild and windy but a beautiful sunset. It has some great cafes for coffee and lunch including the beach shack and the Crab Shack.

We had another wonderful weekend at Hotel Endsleigh - it’s a magical spot where the scenery, service, food and surroundings are everything you could wish for. Nick was up early cycling Dartmoor while I had breakfast in the garden admiring the view! I hate leaving but I can’t wait to get back………roll on September.

London what a Town. 11am at the Royal Albert Hall to hear Olivier Latry play Bach. Then off to the V&A for lunch in the Members restaurant (wonderful birthday pressie thanks Nick - the gift that keeps on giving.) We had to take our time to get a clear shot. But it was worth it. The number of people ducking under the rope to get a killer shot of themselves nearer the cliff edge was staggering and frankly ridiculous. Why would you do that?
