Slowly going to be posting my work from this semester — this was a design project from illustration about making a DVD case for a classic movie. I chose The Silence of the Lambs, and I worked on these cross hatched portraits and trees far too much lol. We ball

A little winter break character study for my new DnD character Leila 😛 more art to come of her outfit/lore, but this study was super fun to do. She’s a changeling so when I play I can do my silly makeup as her and do whatever I want lol

Experimenting with 35mm film👁️ first is local pics, second is a crazy event in Aiken, South Carolina called the Blessing of The Hounds. You hike a mile and a half into the woods where there is a ring filled with people on horseback in tailcoats and regalia of fox hunting, and they have a priest who releases beagles (?) and we all chant a prayer to bless the hunt. I messed up a whole roll of it but got this roll professionally developed lol. Looking forward to continuing to work in the darkroom.

In honor of our next campaign starting, I wanted to make art of my first DnD character, Promus the Unwise 🤤 Some brain candy for Thanksgiving break before I go back to Delaware :P continuing to try new art styles, I like how my diva turned out🐎 swipe to see me make my own reference lmao

CHARACTER BACKGROUND
Promus is a wizard who was raised in an isolated monastery under a false religious order. It was a cult/human trafficking ring where they taught the children they owned incorrect science, math, and writing skills to keep them trapped to be sold to wealthy clients. At 20, Promus snuck over one of the monastery walls and was taken in by an apothecary who could not help Promus with his natural magical abilities, but did teach him to read/write/history/etc. He only knew two spells: thunder clap and fire ball. He landed a singular hit his entire existence, killing a man instantly. Promus immediately threw up onto himself, and never managed another hit. He has minimum intelligence, and maximum luck. His outfit is modeled after Greek orthodox monks, and he wears eyeliner because he likes it. I love him dearly.

Took these pictures with a homemade camera !!! I used an old oat container, a cut out a piece of redbull can and poked a shutter hole, spray painted it, sealed it, and did slow exposures on photographic paper. These aren’t my most professional photos, but this experiment is super cool!! I still think that if I perfect this I can use my mouth as a pinhole camera like Anne Hamilton does with pieces of film. Spent 7 hours in the dark room today trying to get this to work I <3 lens media

Fun fact! I posed for that picture for 20 minutes lmao

Experimenting with different styles yet again — I tried to do something inspired by The New Yorker for the newspaper this week. The article is about the first month of the NFL season, and I do not know anything about football. by @julesivat.art

A series of cyanotypes I’ve been doing in darkroom :3 the prompt was culture, and the first slide is going into a gallery with my other classmates.

Slide 1: “Life on the breakwaters” 2025. Cyanotype, 8.5”x14”

I can’t give you fifty words or less to encompass all of what culture can be. From where I stand, culture is handed around shared practices of a living history. I can cite you hundreds of research papers about warm water currents, or the shoreline of the Delmarva Peninsula as it inching towards us, but what exists in my memory is a hearth I lay at — the smell of salt as you draw closer to the beach, rolling your windows down and closing your eyes. It is learning your father’s way of tying a hook, how his uncle taught him. It’s collective memory, reciting stories from the past and remembering those who I never got to meet. It is ritual, it is connection, it is community. by @julesivat.art

Been very into birds recently — I don’t love the digital illustration’s composition, but tbh idek lol I overworked and overcomplicated it to hell but I did get good practice of fabric/drapery which I’m working on in figure drawing. The second pic is a lino I did for a friend, and had a lot of fun with the lettering and the sand piper :3 Jules doing all art of local Delaware sights/species fork found in kitchen water found wet by @julesivat.art
