is breaking free from the grid. My site for the work I make as Juli Chaos is finally on the World Wide Web!

This marks an important moment, since it’s a tiny step in becoming less dependent on this depressing, data-ripping, polarising platform for presenting my work.

I’ve never liked to post my work in a grid that’s imposing size and rigid ordering. It needs a space in which it can exist beyond time, place, and algorithms.

The cyber universe I’ve created is (just like our very own universe) a continuous work in progress. Now it’s a portfolio site; next month it might become a project page, or a blog to post my holiday pictures (who knows).

It’s a start in building and experimenting with online places that are liberating and fun, instead of draining the mental health of a whole generation.

Have a look! And keep on looking.

Second part of the plenary session are the @dogtroep_archives. ⁠
Dogtroep was a collective of artists, makers and technicians based in Amsterdam who influenced the national and international theatre scene. They were renowned for their experimental, large-scale performances, as well as their handcrafted costumes and props. We'll get a look into how they’ve breathed new life into the material by translating archival forms and techniques into costume designs and a publication that celebrate craftsmanship, creativity and innovation. ⁠

As of today I will be doing a new show at @mutantradiotbilisi

In this bi-monthly show called ‘Out of Order’ I will be making a big mess.

By tuning into randomness, collaging, cutting-up and de-organizing sound, I’ll explore sound as a tool to break aggressive structures and resist opposed order.

There are 5 episodes upcoming. Each episode we’ll enter into Chaos from another direction and uncover cosmic interconnection and harmony that lie within her (soft) eternal Force.

Expect non-lineair sounds, messy transitions, uplifting syyynths, scifi stories, krautrock, ambient, electro, wave, noise and more..

Quantum jump into a new reality,
Artwork for Radar x ADE at Melkweg, commissioned by @melkwegamsterdam

The term “quantum” refers to the smallest unit of energy that exists in the universe. In quantum mechanics, it is believed that energy exists in discrete packets, or quanta.

When you experience a quantum leap, you jump from one energy state to another. You transit into a new reality in an instant. taken in Melkweg Amsterdam by @juli_chaos

Colorful loft partition in Apartment, Amsterdam, 2021 | Interior architecture

In this modern loft style-apartment, the living room and bedroom were initially separated by a solid wall. To create a greater sense of spaciousness and bring more natural light into the bedroom, we introduced a glass and metal partition with a curved corner and slim doors that open from floor to ceiling.

The design draws inspiration from 20th century Parisian café facades, featuring slim metal frames, and large curved glass panels. The steel is finished in a typical French soft green hue.
