to my fans & friends: Please accept my formal and sincere apology for my tardiness in this here annual post to celebrate International Women’s Day (my favorite holiday of the year). As the clock struck midnight on March 8th, a man stole my phone (typical) while I was in my home (on the Splash dance floor). Coming to you live from my iPad that hadn’t been turned on for over two years, here are just a limited amount of the INCREDIBLE women in my life. I ran a marathon!!

Turns out you actually can do anything you set your mind to!! The most massive, humungous, gigantic THANK YOUUUU to every single person who donated & reached out with the most loving and kind words of encouragement before and after this race. A special thank you to my coach (@marathonwhisperer I would never have crossed the finish line without her awesome training plan), my wonderful family (especially my parents who also ran around Chicago to find me a finisher jacket), and the most amazing pit crew (for the cheers, signs, and biofreeze sprays)!! I told my friends Emma, Sydney, Sam and Christine at the turn of the year that I wanted to run a marathon in 2024. They immediately responded with, “And we will all fly out to cheer you on,” and they did just that🥹🫶🏻 Unfortunately, after saying multiple times during my training that I will “never EVER do this again,” this race was a ridiculous amount of fun — I finished strong and never hit the wall! For now I will be enjoying the absurd amount of new found free time and perhaps leaving the possibility of another marathon in the hands of the lottery gods… by @julia.downing
