I've gained quite a few new followers recently so I thought I should say hello and introduce myself…

I'm Julia, an illustrator, artist and printmaker based in Norfolk. I create bright colourful images for commercial clients, as well as produce and sell my own prints.

My work is influenced by my love of vintage design, particularly Art Deco and Mid Century posters. This along with a fascination of pattern, symmetry and shape come together to form the basis of my illustrations.

I use Adobe Illustrator to create my designs, but recently I’ve been enjoying getting back to more traditional media, painting and screen printing. Having just completed a public art mural commission I’m keen to pursue this direction further and see where it leads...

If you have a project that could do with an injection of colour please do get in touch. Contact my agent @meiklejohn_ who will be happy to help with your enquiry.

I'm sad to say my old account has been hacked and is no longer retrievable. I'm pretty gutted as it took me years to gain a following and it played a major role in print sales.
However, onwards & upwards I'll just start again from the beginning.

Here's a little taster of my illustration portfolio. I'll begin to fill up my feed soon, but in the meantime if you'd like to see more of my work please visit my website, the link is in my bio.

Made from hand cut stencils this 4 layer Jackdaw screen print is now available from my website. It's one of my garden birds series so a perfect match to my Robin, Blackbird and Jay prints.

Now that it's November that does mean it's mulled cider/wine season doesn't it?

After yesterday's pumpkin pie illustration I thought I'd share some more foodie artwork. Food is a subject I'm quite drawn to and I particularly enjoy intertwining ingredients with the finished dish. Here are a few recent(ish) examples.

Mulled cider, butternut squash soup, carrot soup, apple pie, tomato soup & sour dough.

I'm not really a fan of Halloween, but I do like food and drawing food, so here's some seasonal pumpkin pie :)

A Jackdaw... now available from my website :)
Any requests as to what I should print next?

If you like some of my recent bird screen prints, did you know I sell cards too? This is just a small selection from an order going out today :)

Prepping my next stencil for printing. I'm getting the hang of cutting the fine lines now, new very sharp scalpel blade is the key :)

I printed this duck two years ago. It's taken a while but I finally sold my first one yesterday 🙂

It's funny how some things sell and others don't. I kinda like this one, I mean it's a duck, who doesn't like ducks?

This Robin screen print is now available from my website. There's a direct link in my bio.

There were 10, but I'm already down to 6. It's a perfect match to my blackbird and jay prints, or a smaller cousin to the A3 bullfinch and bluetit.

I posted a reel the other day showing the printing process, but it looks like IG being IG showed it to loads of people apart from my followers 🙄 so, if you would like to see this being printed have a look at my grid.

Finishing touch...
Amazing what a difference a tiny white dot can make :)

I'll be adding this little robin print to my shop tomorrow.
