Julia Campbell’s tasteful combination of artwork, fashion, and outdoor culture while utilizing more responsible creation methods is incredibly refreshing. With second-hand, up-cycled pieces acting as blank canvases, her artwork gives older pieces–both technical and casual–a whole new life and purpose.

It was only right to document her signature hand-painted butterfly and daisy motifs in their natural environment at The Flats in Revelstoke, BC.

Last month I had the pleasure of chatting with @mysonstan about all things art - the process and inspiration behind some of my designs - my involvement with Robin Van Gyn’s @rndsearch , secret paint concoctions , manifestation and my love for salt and vinegar chips.

Thank you @mysonstan @slushthemagazine I am extremely grateful for this opportunity to share my story and speak on some of my passions. Snowboarding is a community that without the love and support from, I wouldn’t be doing the crazy amazing things I’ve been able to experience. It’s crazy flipping the pages and seeing it for real!!

BTS of RnD year 2

The creative process behind painting the bibs is somewhat intuitive. Laying out the vests together I get a sense of what designs would fit what colour and placement. It’s my favourite part of my process, with some easier to design than others (😅) and countless hours and nights at the studio (thank god for salt and vinegar chips and hip hop) it’s a project that I’ve enjoyed doing for these past two seasons. It’s been a really great way to challenge myself creatively by designing different pieces that the riders will subjectively choose. And that’s art, no?

Thank you @robinvangyn @rndsearch for including me as an artist and creating space for me within this event.
