hanging up the grips for real this time :)

i am forever grateful for everything these past five years have brought - the highs, the lows and everything in between. the lessons i learned went far beyond this sport. this last year was different. this year was for me. i let go of chasing outcomes and started focusing on the journey. i’ve learned that not everything meaningful can be measured. some of the most important moments were those no one saw the intentions, the mindset shifts, or the small wins that slowly built into something bigger. it wasn’t always about where i would end up, but who i would become along the way.

they say that everything happens for a reason. and it was hard for me to see that in the moment. if you had asked me a year ago whether i thought i’d get back to doing what i love, i would have said it was almost impossible. what once felt way out of reach became my greatest motivation. the mountain i thought that might end my story became the reason i grew. my hardest chapter became my most powerful one. it showed me what true hard work, grit and determination can do. most importantly it reminded me that i can do anything i set my mind to, no matter how hard those things may feel. those are things i’ll carry with me for a lifetime. and for that, i can say it was all worth it.

thank you to those who believed in me when i didn’t believe in myself. thank you to the ones who showed up in ways i can’t even begin to describe. i’m forever grateful for the people and relationships i have built throughout my time in this sport. i am so lucky to have met the most incredible people that have become some of my best of friends. the memories made here are those that i will cheerish forever.

@redbirdgymnastics thank you for giving me some of the most memorial years of my life thus far. thank you for giving me a home away from home, and a place i grew into. i’ll forever be grateful i got another opportunity to do what i love, at the place i love, and with the people i love even more. #redbird4L by @juliaheinerr
