💜WELCOMING A NEW PIECE called ~ The Butterfly that Collected Daydreams💜

Tiny poem for the piece 🦋✨
“Nuture your heart
And fill your cart
With the seeds for the next season..
Then when your feeling low
Let the flowers grow
And you’ll know you collected them for a reason”
✨🌷✨🌷✨🌷✨

This piece is inspired by some daydreams coming back to me, some I had forgotten about or forgotten the feeling of!✨
This had me thinking about how I love that we dream of many things and THEN… they disappear for a bit or life gets busy and you forget…. THEN when it’s the right time- the dreams sprout again, letting you know they are ready to take form🦋✨

Then spiralling from these thoughts, I loved imagining the idea that there was a GIANT BUTTERFLY out there, collecting all our lost daydreams & planting them into the earth to come out as colourful flowers. 🌷
Then perhaps one day we would walk past one of the flowers by chance & would be so taken aback by its magic & it’s colour, that something about it would JOLT our daydreams back into us….
for us to return to the path of the daydreamer 🦋

For this piece I used a mix of Pen & watercolour + these NEW (to me) Japanese gauche paints which really have a snazzy way of making the colours go extra POP!!!⚡️⚡️🌈🌈🎨🎨🎨 by @juliajayart

SAND to SOOTHE the soul ✨
Was starting to feel a bit stressed yesterday (work related) & I noticed my body was starting to feel constricted + mind was starting to go over time (aka. high pressure on self mode) which is a place I don’t like to work or create from!
So I set my alarm to 5:20am and dedicated the first 2 hours of my day to sand art 🧡
….a deeply soothing spiral flowed out and just as I completed it the sun SHINED down upon it!!! ✨🌞🌀✨

💜THE MOTHERHOOD SERIES - calling in mothers & birth-workers- if you are currently on a birth journey, or have been through/assisted in the birth portal- in all the forms they come in- I am calling in woman who are open to sharing their stories & photos with me🌛

I am opening a creative portal to draw these journeys, all your stories and photos will be sat with & woven into an artwork series encapsulating the energies of the birthing portal✨✨✨

Each year I hand create and paint all the art for it + drawing out all the months titles is my favourite thing!!

Connected via Earthly Beings 🌀

Incredibly honoured to have been given an opportunity to create a sand sculpture ammonite for the opening ceremony at @dragon_dreaming_festival , special thanks to @bumble_music for putting it all together , it was great to work with you on this vision.

A big shoutout to @juliajayart who agreed to create this sculpture with me. It was new territory for me personally & I was quite unsure about committing to a sand sculpture as I have never created one of this magnitude.

The theme was “fire fossil” , the ammonite felt so right to be birthed into this space. It is something that I have felt deeply connected to for many years, and the message that it brings such as transformation, wisdom and the cyclical nature of life. The continuous outward expanding spiral to me is the core essence of life, as well as the pattern that we all are bound by, (also known as the Fibonacci sequence).

It felt so right to create on this special land - especially given that it was once an inland sea. The land here has seen so much transformation & it has brought so much transformation for me over the years.

SO grateful to have such a CREATIVE filled festival!!!
~ was part of 2 incredible roving performances with @creatura_collective 😍 thank you for your visionary mind @abondance444 ✨🦋💜
AND
Spent the Saturday ~Building a giant FOSSIL Sand sculpture with @michaelarnoldartist 😍 it was made with the intention of knowing it would be joyfully stomped into the dance floor at the end of opening ceremony!! The ultimate create & destroy😂!!!⚡️🧡

The land here is so special, to be surrounded by mountains, rise to swim in the lake & have some of the best dance floor boogies makes me so happy!!!
Currently now a resting fairy integrating everything 🧚

I held a PAINT & SIP ✨Morning Tea in the Garden Edition✨ last Saturday & it was such a VIBE!!!⚡️
I guided everyone through this moon garden painting & Karen put together these AMAZING grazing platters😍

🦋 I currently have a SOLO EXHIBITION~ “From my Heart Bloomed a World of Colour” now at the @hunterbotanicgardens for the WHOLE MONTH of September!!🦋 🌈

I am displaying a mix of painted originals, framed prints, cards & unframed prints! As pieces sell I shall replace them so it will slightly change over the month ☺️

25% of proceeds goes to the Hunter Region Botanic Garden, which makes me heart so happy! They have the most incredible volunteers there & have done such an amazing job to preserve & grow so many species over the 40 years they have been open since 1986!

15minutes out of Newcastle ~The Gardens have beautiful walks, flowers in bloom, a cactus garden & little cafe!! Definitely worth a visit if in need of a fun day out!! OPEN 9am -4pm everyday!! 🌿✨

We don’t even know how to put yesterday into words.

Feels like we went on some kind of four-hour magical bender together and emerged completely untethered, wildly nourished, cracked open, turned on by life and a whole lot more in love with ourselves 🦁🔥

We played. We sung. We danced. We made noise. We got weird. We let ourselves be soft and sensual and ridiculous and powerful and completely ALIVE.

You won’t see a whole lot of that here though.

We’re really considerate about what we capture inside these circles because they are deeply sacred spaces. The whole point is for women to forget how they look, forget who might be watching, get out of their heads, go wild, be free and completely surrender to the moment - and that’s pretty hard to do with a camera in your face.

So a lot of the magic stays in the room.

Trust us when we say, what happened beyond these little snippets was something else entirely.

And somehow, it felt like there were so many more women in that room than the ones we could see. The mothers. The grandmothers. The women before us. The ones who perhaps didn’t get to take up this much space, make this much noise, experience this much pleasure or love themselves this loudly.

The biggest, deepest thank you to every woman who showed up and gave herself to it. And a HUGE thank you to our facilitators @jacqui_shaktirose & @wildsongco for creating an otherworldly experience. And @juliajayart for the most stunning Earth alter.

Lioness Gate was juicy, ridiculous, sacred, pleasurable, powerful and completely medicinal.

A very special ORIGINAL COMMISSION ARTWORK~ complete & off to her forever home!!!🥰💜✨
I met Teigan & her lil fam at the Newcastle Farmers market a year or two ago now and after hearing some of her journey, I felt so excited to weave her story into the art realms!! ✨

This Piece “The magic of two found their way to you” weaves together her birth story of birthing her two adorable twin girls & the powerful transformations surrounding this time for Teigan💜
