My favorite part of documenting Möllan has been meeting its many characters and catching glimpses of the lives unfolding here.

For a decade, the neighbourhood of Möllan was my place in the world. That’s why it was especially fun to be commissioned to document it — its unique mix of young visionaries, bike thieves, pigeons, fruit vendors, old and new Malmö residents — for the City of Malmö.

“This is a collection of the world’s most striking contemporary feline photography, inviting us to explore our enduring obsession with these enigmatic creatures through a new lens.”

I’m truly excited to be a contributor to New Photography of the Cat, published by Hoxton Mini Press, alongside photographers who inspire me deeply, such as @teryoshi and @robin_schwartz. It’s an eclectic and wonderful collection of cat images — for everyone who loves cats, or photography (or both).

The photographs I share in the book were first published in the monograph Katt People, a collaboration with writer Annina Rabe, published by Modernista.

One week left!
Until September 7 you can see my exhibition De Andra / The Others at @arbetetsmuseum in Norrköping.

Through photographs and films spanning from 2011 until today I explore the role of animals in our society and the fragile line between love and control.

The videos are an extension of my long term project Zoo World. Using the same type of camera work as in the stills, the moving images bring sound and motion into the exhibition hall – best experienced live.

Do not miss the final week!

Polar bears at Copenhagen Zoo, 2023.

My exhibition ”De andra” is now open at @arbetetsmuseum in Norrköping, and will be on view until September 7.
It brings together work from all of my major projects, spanning from 2011 to today. It explores our relationship with non-human animals – and what that relationship reveals about ourselves.

The exhibition was first shown at @dunkerskultur in Helsingborg last year. I’m truly happy that it now meets a new audience. Together with Josefine Höijer at Arbetets museum, I’ve adapted it to the current space and in doing so, the exhibition has taken on a new form.

Showing this work at Arbetets museum / The workers museum carries weight in more than one way. As a space for documentary photography, it opens up the possibility of seeing animals as subjects of documentary – and as part of our shared society.
And perhaps more symbolically: here, they now share a space traditionally devoted to human labour. A reminder that these animals are also workers in our manmade world.

Grateful to everyone involved in this process🤍 taken in Arbetets museum by @julialindemalm
