i try not to talk about this much, but if you didn’t know, i was diagnosed with gastroparesis almost 5 years ago. having gastroparesis means my stomach is paralyzed and i experience pain and nausea frequently. this illness has affected every aspect of my life—i had to quit competitive dancing which was my favorite thing to do in the world, i was unable to attend school, and i couldn’t enjoy everyday life without this illness holding me back. there was a time i couldn’t even get out of bed and walk without assistance, and it was a real possibility that i would never be able to work a job, go to school, drive a car, or live my life without help. looking back now, i realize that im living in the reality of what i prayed for every night. now, i AM able to do all of the little, mindless daily tasks i once couldn’t do. i am in a MUCH better place health wise. i have so much to look forward to this year and i am so grateful God has blessed me to be where im at today. although im not healed and i face struggles with this everyday, the past 4 years God has shown me strength and resilience i didn’t know i had. He was such a light in a dark time and i couldn’t have gone through it without God and my family. i know this is such a long caption but i am so happy to be where i am today and i wouldn’t be the person i am today without this illness. 💚💚💚 by @julialively
