This city was buried by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in AD 79—and walking through it feels like stepping back in time. 🏛️🌋Pompeii is not just a collection of ruins as my many could say (including my son) before visiting it.😀It’s an entire ancient Roman city where you can still see streets, homes, shops, temples, and even traces of everyday life from nearly 2,000 years ago.☀️ Travel tip: If you’re visiting in summer, be prepared—it gets extremely hot. Bring plenty of water, wear sunscreen, a hat, and comfortable shoes, as there’s very little shade.During my entire Italy trip, Pompeii was where I got the most sun.💡 Interesting fact: When Pompeii was excavated, archaeologists discovered hollow spaces left by people and animals buried in the ash. They poured plaster into these cavities, creating the famous casts that preserve the victims’ final moment by @juliamartravels
