Apologies in advance for the sappy post lol.

I’ve been sitting with so many feelings this past week, trying to make sense of what the last two and a half years in Atlanta have meant to me. I moved there with no job, no plan, and no real idea what I was doing. Somehow, through all the uncertainty, I ended up building a life I never expected to love so much.

After the first year, I didn’t think Atlanta was for me. I didn’t feel settled and almost left. But giving it one more year changed everything. I found my people and a version of myself I didn’t even know existed. Atlanta slowly became home in the most unexpected way.

The city held some of my highest highs and some really low lows. Leaving a place that changed me so much has been such a hard feeling to process. It’s rare to find a place and people that made saying goodbye feel impossible. And as sad as it’s been, I feel really lucky because of that.

As much as I didn’t feel ready and didn’t want this chapter to end, I knew I had to give Chicago a chance. Atlanta will forever be one of my most meaningful and favorite chapters. I left with the best memories, people, and a whole lot of love for a city that changed me in so many ways.

Who knew moving 12 hours from home with a random Facebook roommate would lead to a chapter I never knew I needed. And to all the people who made Atlanta feel like home, thank you. Thank you for making this chapter so much fun, so silly, so full, and so hard to leave.
