Only a couple weeks away! So excited for this show, bringing out my friends @coleplaysbass and @mariolaynefabrizio. We used to play together a lot when I was in Boston, and it’s going to be great being able to play again!

VANJAZZ 2026 SHOW ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Over the past 4 years, Sundays at Hero’s Welcome has become one of Vancouver’s best Jazz hangs, featuring Canada’s premier Jazz talent almost every week.

For VanJazz 2026, this series will feature two world class groups, featuring top talent from both Canada and the US.

Aretha Tillotson is a Canadian jazz bassist who has performed on national and international stages. Aretha has played across North America with Kris Davis, Francesca Remigi, Allan Chase, Josh Rosen, Ingrid Jensen and Christine Jensen. On October 18th, she will be performing in Vancouver for the very first time as a bandleader, leading a band that features Jacob Do, Andre Wickenheiser & Mark Segger.

Julian Jayme is one of Canada's finest Jazz guitarists, known for his interpretations of the music of Brian Blade, Ben Wendel, and others.
On October 25, he'll be bringing Cole Davis on bass (currently living in NY) and Mario Fabrizio on drums (currently living in Seattle) to Hero's Welcome.

Both of these concerts are only $10 in advance, and $15 at the door. Unlike other shows in this series we’ll be selling tickets on Eventbrite in advance, so buying tickets in advance is strongly encouraged.

One of my oldest and closest friends @atiari.wav was in town recently and we pulled an all nighter playing some music before I drove her to the airport. Here’s a 3:30am impromptu duet cover of @gabebondoc ‘s “Gentleman Don’t”. Anyone who was around for the old YouTube music era has probably heard this one before. #singersongwriter #vancouvermusic by @julianjayme
