Life didn’t turn out the way I imagined. Now I’m finding my own path again🌻✨

Hola! I’m Julianne, a mom, holistic health coach, a restless soul who’s never quite fit into the conventional way of life.

In 2024 we moved to Argentina with our 4-month old son & dog because we wanted to create a different life.

Things didn’t turn out the way we’d imagined, and 2 years later we found ourselves back in the Netherlands, starting over in a life I hadn’t planned for.

The past 6 months have been a rollercoaster of finding myself again, creating a home, navigating motherhood and figuring out what comes next.

And somewhere in the middle of that, I realised I had to find my way back to myself too..

Not only physically, but also mentally. This big life change has left a mark on me and I’m figuring out how to get healthy & strong again.

And work on my identity, dreams and the way I want to live my life again.

So that’s what this page is about💛

🌿Holistic health, strength & working on your health in a way that fits your life as a mom.
👩🏼 The messy reality of motherhood & finding yourself again

I’m not here because I’ve it all figured out. I’m right in it, living this and learning along the way, choosing to create a life that feels right for us.

I believe you can love being a mom and still want more from life, take care of your health, be present and have dreams of your own!

If you’re navigating a new chapter, starting over, trying to find yourself again, or wondering whether there’s another way to do life.

I’m glad you’re here & follow along🌻

Tell me, are you also in a season of figuring things out again?

So here’s what I want you to try this week:

Choose ONE small thing you promise yourself you’ll do.

Something you know you can actually fit into your life right now.

Think of going for a 10-minute walk, eating a proper breakfast, adding some protein to your lunch or doing one workout.

Whatever it is, make it small enough so that you can follow through.

And then actually do it.

Not because one small habit will magically change your life, but because every time you keep a small promise to yourself, you build a little more trust in yourself.

And that’s where bigger changes begin. 🤍

Tell me in the comments: What’s ONE small promise you’re making to yourself this week?

I feel a bit scared but also excited to announce this👀✨

Sometimes it’s really necessary to put ALL your energy on betting on yourself.

This feels scary because I’m not sure yet how this is going to look like.. but I think I’ve become great friends the past year with uncertainty😂

I want to bet on myself for years but always hid myself behind a back-up plan….

That’s why I did it differently this time!

We are going ALL-IN on my business for ONE YEAR, just to see what’s possible in a year betting 100% on yourself🌻.

I’ll document all the wins, the setbacks, the lessons and the things I’m creating and doing behind the scenes.

Let’s see what this journey is going to bring & follow along if you want to see what’s going to happen👀

The first two years I’ve boarded 20 planes with my boy..

And some people told me: he won’t remember any of it; why would you go travel so much?!

Even though I do think they experience and feel everything since they’re a baby, we’ve made beautiful memories together✨

He has been in countless planes as a baby of 2 months old until 2 years old and everything in between.

He has visited Germany, Denmark twice, Switzerland 3 times, Uruguay, Brasil and lived in Argentina besides the Netherlands..

All in 2.5 years😂 my adventurous little boy🫶🏻

And maybe it’s true he won’t remember, but we will🥰

You’re already trying to navigate motherhood, take care of everyone around you, and find your own rhythm in a season of life that might look nothing like you imagined.

The last thing you need is to spend even more energy worrying about food.

Wondering what you should eat.
Feeling guilty about what you just ate.
Promising yourself you’ll do better tomorrow.
Trying to be “good” all day, only to feel like you’ve failed by the evening.

And somewhere in between taking care of your kids, managing everyday life, and trying to take care of yourself, your own health starts to feel like another thing you’re getting wrong.

But what if getting healthier didn’t mean more rules, more restriction, or more things to obsess over?

What if you could nourish your body, get stronger, and build sustainable habits without food controlling your thoughts or dictating how you feel about yourself?

You don’t need to have your nutrition perfectly figured out to take care of yourself.

And you don’t need to turn your health into another full-time job to be a good mom.

You deserve to feel good in your body and have the mental space to enjoy the life you’re building. 🤍

Follow along for a different approach to nutrition, sustainable health habits, and a healthier relationship with food without the guilt, restriction, or obsession.

Moms, who can relate?

I want a biiig life.

I want to see the world, experience different cultures, try things that scare me, build something of my own, and wake up excited about the life I’m creating.

I want deep connections, new experiences, freedom, and stories I’ll tell for the rest of my life.

And becoming a mom hasn’t made me want those things any less.

It has made me even more aware of how precious this life is.

I want to be present for my son. I want to watch him grow, be there for the little moments, and give him a childhood filled with love.

But I also want him to see his mom chasing dreams, trying new things, making mistakes, changing her mind and creating a life that feels like HER own.

I don’t want him to grow up thinking that life is something you put on hold until the kids are older, the timing is better, or retirement finally comes around.

I want him to see that there’s more than one way to live.

And no, I don’t have it all figured out. I’ve made decisions that didn’t work out the way I imagined. I’ve started over. I’ve questioned myself.

But I’m learning that a life that looks different from what you planned doesn’t have to be a life that’s gone wrong.

You can love your life and still want more from it.

You can be a devoted mom and still have dreams that belong to you.

And you don’t have to choose between being a good mother and being a woman who wants to experience everything this world has to offer.

Tell me I’m not the only one who wants a biiig life. 🌍

Why is “bouncing back” after having a baby still the goal?

I was looking at old pictures of myself recently, from before I became a mom, before moving abroad, before so much of my life changed.

And seeing those pictures made me realise how easy it is to look at your old body and think, I want that back.

We look at pictures of ourselves before motherhood and compare our bodies today to the bodies we had back then.

We remember how we looked, how our clothes fitted, and what life was like before everything changed.

And without even realising it, we start treating our old bodies as the goal we’re supposed to work towards.

But when I look at those pictures now, I don’t just see a different body.

I see a different version of myself.

A woman who hadn’t experienced motherhood yet. Who hadn’t moved countries, started over, or navigated all the changes that have shaped the person I am today.

Of course, my body has changed, too.

And I still want to feel strong. I want to build muscle, have more energy and take care of my health.

But I don’t want to spend my life trying to get back to a body that belonged to a completely different chapter of my life.

Because what if I can want to feel better in my body without expecting it to look exactly like it did before?

You can accept the woman you’ve become and still work towards feeling stronger and healthier.

Because the goal isn’t to bounce back.

It’s to move forward. 🤍

Send this to a mom who needs a different perspective on postpartum fitness.

I wanted to be a present mom for his first years. In the Netherlands, with the high cost of living, that would have been really hard, so we took a leap and moved to Argentina.

I believe in attachment parenting. And that until around age 3, kids mainly need their parents close to feel safe and secure.

So I wanted to give him that base, even if it meant taking the unconventional path.

It didn’t go as planned, and I’m still building the life I want for us. But I’d choose those early years with him again, every time.

Now he does go to daycare a few times a week, but all on my terms. If he doesn’t feel well, he stays home.

He sleeps with me, I breastfeed him still, he naps at home with me and I make sure he feels secure about himself and becomes an independent boy.

Are you a mom who wants to be there without giving up on yourself? Follow along, I’m sharing the real journey. 🌻

A Dutch newspaper called my emigration to Argentina a flop.

And honestly? For a while, I struggled with that word, too.

We moved to Argentina with our four-month-old son, hoping to create a different kind of life. More freedom, more time together, and a future that felt more aligned with what we wanted.

But reality looked very different from what we’d imagined.

Eventually, we moved back to the Netherlands. No house of our own, financially, mentally, emotionally and physically starting over, and trying to figure out what came next.

At 30, I found myself living with my parents again, with a toddler and a whole new life to navigate.

But here’s what I’m learning:

Just because something didn’t work out doesn’t mean you were wrong to try.

I could look at our emigration and see a failed plan.

Or I could see a woman who dared to question the life she was living, took a risk on something she believed in, and learned things she couldn’t have learned by staying where she was.

I don’t regret wanting a different life and also I don’t regret trying to create it.

And I’m learning not to let the outcome of one decision determine how much I trust myself to make the next one.

Because I still want freedom, I still want adventure. I still want to build a life that feels like ours.

I’m just figuring out what that looks like now.

Maybe you’re starting over after a relationship, a career change, becoming a mom, or a decision that didn’t turn out the way you hoped.

You don’t have to pretend it didn’t hurt. You don’t have to turn every difficult experience into a beautiful lesson overnight.

But you also don’t have to let it convince you that you’ve failed at life and that you can’t build something new and start over again.

You can accept that something didn’t work out without giving up on the woman you want to become. 🌻

Have you ever made a decision that didn’t turn out the way you imagined, but changed you in ways you didn’t expect?

Why are you still taking health advice from someone who doesn’t wake up 5 times a night or someone who doesn’t have the same 24 hours you have?

And no, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t take responsibility for your health. You should.

But your plan has to fit the life you actually have, not the life of someone with full nights of sleep, whose life revolves around fitness and who has hours to herself.

I’ve felt guilty about my plans after motherhood a LOT. As I couldn’t keep track of it when my baby was sick, teething or I was having nights of 4 hours sleep..

A plan that fits your real life works on the messy days too. Because those plans have a backup for the weeks that fall apart.

And when you have that, you stop falling off, and you stop thinking you’re the problem.
