Grateful is an understatement… ❤️‍🩹 I didn’t think I would be making this post for another 2 years but I am trusting in God’s plan. Unfortunately due to an ankle injury, I have decided to step away from competing in track and field. I made this tough decision for what will be best for me and my future. I can’t thank all my family, friends, coaches, trainers, and teammates enough for the support in my decision, and being there for me through this difficult period. This sport has given me so many great opportunities, memories, friendships, and so much more. I have been blessed to be a part of 2 great teams and clubs that have helped me grow as an athlete and a person. Eastwood track will always have a special place in my heart. Being able to be my parent’s athlete, and have them as my coaches was something I will never take for granted. I grew up playing at track and field practices till I was old enough to start trying it myself. I was beyond blessed with the career and coaches I had in high school, and was given the opportunity to take that to the next level. Eastern Michigan gave me that opportunity and I’m so thankful I was able to compete for them for 2 years. I can’t step away from the sport completely just yet, and I wanted to finish out the 4 years I have with my teammates and friends. With the strong support from my coaches here, I have been given the opportunity to remain with my team for the next 2 years, just in a different role. I’m excited for this new chapter, but will miss the student athlete role just as much. Never take any moment for granted, and appreciate the opportunities and time you have with what you love! by @juliasaboo
