@juliasrum & I had the pleasure of designing and building a space for attendees to gather and relax at @sutrofm’s inaugural Everything In Color festival. for this space, we had the opportunity to both bring new life to past work from our own respective practices and create new forms together. — Bioplastic lanterns Julia & Justine. Gelatin-based bioplastic, onion skin, matcha, turmeric, dried florals, LED lights. Fabric panels Julia. Poly chiffon, poly organza, foraged material. Bioplastic panels Justine. Gelatin-based bioplastic, matcha, turmeric, spirulina. by @juliasrum
Honored to announce that our dear homies @subfeels and @juliasrum will be in charge of decorating our chillout area. Throughout the last year we have seen them individually slay decor at events throughout the Bay Area. We have been waiting for the right opportunity to work with these two geniuses 🙂‍↕️ More info about Justine and Julia: Justine and Julia are artists who share a passion for experimenting with tangible materials. Right now, their explorations center on bioplastics: where science meets art, sourced from what’s readily available in nature and the home. They love orchestrating the transformation of everyday materials like turmeric, matcha, and cornstarch into biomaterial paintings and sculptures. This practice carries over into installation design, by facilitating conversations between material and light, shaping spaces that people want to linger in. Justine Sun Dela Cruz is a multidisciplinary artist, experience designer, and DJ, with over a decade of creative collaborations across music, art, and event organizing in the Bay Area. Her installations sit at the threshold: spaces where people pause together at points of communion, transformation, or decay, working in mediums ranging from bamboo to LED sculpture. Her work has been shown at Campette, Bombay Beach Biennale, Vitarave, and SF Design Week. Julia Um is a multimedia visual artist working in bioplastic, florals, fabric, and light. Her installations explore themes of memory, impermanence, and the space between presence and obscuration. She has recently created installations and set designs for Vitarave, @club.moniker , and other DIY parties. by @juliasrum

Heyyyyy…Friday night was a dream. At times it felt utopian. Most good ideas arise out of silly times - and this one came out of left field with @gopalraman. We wanted people to commune and move to slinkier, freakier, and hazier music. Safe to say the inaugural gas exceeded all expectations. Many thanks to the dancers and attendants who got lost in the sauce with us. DJs - @wonjwonj and @babymfleo for taking us out theeeerreeee expanding our minds and moving our bodies The team behind the vision and execution, some new homies traveling out of town to help us out! @juliasrum @ttoutikian @sean343_ @sylvjasworld @gaunt.viking @tonicofrhythm @louiegavin @tips.tk_ @suade.zip @aepricity_ @chrisreath @jeremy.l.sanford The legend @rhomas_ormsby for the flyer Partner in crime @gopalraman for over-intellectualizing the rave with me and invoking the concept Stay tuned, more to come at an office near you… by @juliasrum
