Three years, no alcohol…. It’s not so bad, in fact, its great 😊

Hands down this has been the best decision of my life.

Every January that goes by I look back over another year where I committed to being better.

It feels so long ago that I disliked myself, questioned my every move, regretted what I said or did like I had something to prove.

Now, I just flow, I just know that I’ve got myself. I trust myself.

That version of me who messed things up all the time is in the not too distant past. Now when I make errors, I’ve got nothing to blame except my sober self— and that’s ok.

I’m only human, and you are too. I just got to a point where I knew there was more for me, it felt really true.

My life has moulded its way into something different than what it once was, it happens slowly. Now I look back and my interests and hobbies are completely different. It has a ripple effect into every other department of your life.

Being a non-drinker is not all that bad, in fact it’s great.

Eventually it just becomes who you are, and take it from me, I love this version of myself more than ever before. 🐦‍🔥

As you probably know by now, I like to share my darker experiences through comedy or some form of creative expression~it makes things like this a little lighter to hold.

I haven’t spoken to it in too much detail in the past but I experience PMDD.

PMDD (Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder) has brought me to my knees more times than I can count over the last few years.

It can feel like a dark cloud rolls in and suddenly puts distance between me and everything I normally feel connected to. My relationships, my purpose, my ability to access joy and high agency - I struggle to reach it all.

It’s complicated, it’s dark, it’s certainly made relating difficult in the past and showing up as the bright, bubbly, motivated and loving Julia that others know me to be. I’ve been learning how to accept it and work with it more and more. But of course some days are more difficult than others.

PMDD is very real, and so many women experience severe emotional and physical symptoms in the lead-up to their period, often without understanding why they suddenly feel so unlike themselves. It can dramatically alter mood and interpersonal functioning during the symptomatic phase, it’s hardcore.

I simply want to acknowledge this for now rather than delving into the years of research, supplements, alternative therapies and medicine I’ve taken to ease the symptoms…

A few final pics from the Mindgasm launch party, it was one big date night ❤️‍🔥

There was love, romance, cheekiness and play all packed into a few unforgettable hours.

If you were there, you were enchanted, seduced… you may have even left confessing your love for your date ( true story) 😏🫶🏻

The whole room felt like a collective aphrodisiac. People were curious. Open. Flirting. Connecting. Strangers became conversations and conversations became core memories. I know that’s the kind of event I want to attend 😊😊

There was an electricity in the room that’s hard to put into words, but you could absolutely feel it.

Turns out, getting deep is pretty damn sexy & so were the guests. 🥰🥰🥰
