3 Scriptures I have prayed over my kids since they were born.

✨ Luke 2:52
“Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.”

🙏🏼 Psalm 86:11
“Teach me your way, Lord… give me an undivided heart, that I may fear your name.”

🤍 Ephesians 3:17–19
That they would be rooted and established in love and truly know how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ.

LORD, let our children grow in wisdom and stature and in favor with You and with people. Give them undivided hearts that fear Your name. And may they spend their whole lives deeply rooted in the unshakable love of Jesus. by @juliebennett_

Four kids, four completely different hearts. What lands for one doesn’t always land for another — so I can’t just recycle the same prayer four times and hope it fits.

That’s why the still, quiet part matters so much. Which if you know me, settling down—takes me a hot minute. 🫠 Our nervous systems are wired to stay busy and going all day when we are caring for our babes— praying with an answer instead of just for one means actually slowing down long enough to hear what each of them needs right now.

Also, a gentle reminder to just be so kind to yourself. There’s always a temptation as a mother to simply feel like you’re not measuring up. Trust me, we’ve all felt it. God has been reminding me for years that my kids were His before they were mine. His compassion is endless. And He can’t wait to show you how to pray, because not only is He going to speak to you, but in stillness He also gets to hang out with you — which is His favorite thing!”

HOW TO CRAFT A PRAYER FOR YOUR KIDS 🤍

Instead of only praying about what you’re worried about, craft a prayer around who God is and what He desires for your child.

• Get still. Ask God, “What is Your heart for my child in this season?” And not just the WHY’S but “what do you want me to know?”

• Listen before you pray. Write down what comes to mind—Scripture, promises, words, themes or attributes of God.

• Find the promise, not just the problem. What does God want to develop, restore or establish in your child?

• Anchor it in Scripture. Find verses that agree with what you believe God is highlighting.

• Pray from God’s character, not your fear. Let His goodness, faithfulness and promises shape the prayer more than the circumstances do.

• Write it out. Turn those Scriptures and promises into a specific, intentional prayer over your child.

• Keep praying it. When circumstances change, return to the prayer and keep agreeing with what you believe God has spoken.

Don’t just pray about what you see. Pray into who they are becoming. 🙏🏼 by @juliebennett_
