Today, the Orlando Economic Partnership hosted Policy in Progress: On the Ballot – Property Tax Reform, bringing together business and community leaders for a timely discussion on Amendment 3 and what the proposed property tax reform could mean for the Orlando region.

Thank you to Jeff Brandes, Eric Grimmer, Katrina Scarbrough and Sheriff John Mina for sharing their perspectives, and to Julie Gargotta for moderating the conversation.

A special thank you to the Mayor William Beardall Senior Center for welcoming us and providing the space to host today’s panel discussion.

And thank you to everyone who joined us and took part in the conversation.

And just like that… he’s FOUR! 🎉

Our wild boy loves monster trucks, biking, swimming and pretending he’s a super hero. We spend lots of time at soccer and at the park. His big boy bed was a hit—and skateboarding is his next challenge! Right now, he wants to be either an astronaut or a motorcycle/stunt driver 🤣 by @juliegargottatv

🍊CITRUS SOLUTION? “Can you imagine if instead of #citrus on our license plates, it was houses?” one citrus grower offered. Growers today in Lake Alfred told me they are lucky to be part of finding a solution to the problems which plague the industry. In the lab @ufifascitrusrec, we dove into findings amid a pivotal point in time for #Florida’s iconic industry. taken in Lake Alfred, Florida by @juliegargottatv

It’s been more than a decade since I donned a cap and gown @templeuniv & toasted w/ my peers our collective accomplishment: we had completed our Master of Journalism program. As someone who loves learning, graduate school was a natural next step. I hoped it would build additional confidence in my professional endeavors.

And it did: A great foundation in writing and deep understanding of AP style led me to freelance for various magazines and shape local TV newscasts as a reporter and, later, as an anchor.

But, a few months ago, I got that itch again and decided it was time to expand my knowledge. I was nervous to be back in school (it had been so long!). But, the @cornelluniversity classes via @guildeducation were rigorous, fast-paced and interesting.

I’m happy to share I’ve now earned my Corporate Communications certificate. I learned so much, and I know it will make me an even more effective communicator, team leader and mentor. 👏🏽 A nod to former colleagues @shan__banan & @mattgentili for the inspiration! by @juliegargottatv
