Scotland at its very best 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏔️🏰🗼🌊.

Imagine spending a week photographing dramatic mountain landscapes, rugged coastlines, ancient castles and some of the most iconic scenery in Europe.

On my upcoming photo tour to the Scottish Highlands in March 2027, we’ll explore the breathtaking Isle of Skye and the legendary Glen Coe, visiting locations such as the Old Man of Storr, Quiraing, Neist Point, Kilchurn Castle and many more hidden gems along the way.

March is the perfect time to experience Scotland: snow-capped peaks are still possible, the landscapes begin to come alive after winter, and the ever-changing weather creates the dramatic light conditions Scotland is famous for — all without the crowds of peak season.

📍 Scottish Highlands (Isle of Skye & Glen Coe)
📅 March 20–26, 2027
👥 Maximum 6 photographers

4️⃣ Spitzkoppe – Dramatic granite formations and natural rock arches. Perfect for sunset and astrophotography.

3️⃣ Quiver Tree Forest – Unique trees that make incredible foregrounds for Milky Way photography. Stay after sunset!

Don’t go to Swedish Lapland in winter they say. It’s just dark and cold they say… 🥶

Well… they’re not entirely wrong about the cold. But they’re definitely missing out on the magic 🤩!

Imagine endless snow-covered landscapes, mountains glowing in the soft Arctic light, colorful sunsets that seem almost unreal, and the thrill of riding a snowmobile through the wilderness 🏔️❄️.

And if you’re lucky, you might even encounter some wildlife like moose and reindeer 🫎.

Yes, winter in Swedish Lapland can be cold, and the days are short. But that’s also what makes this time of year so special. The low Arctic sun creates beautiful light for photography, the landscapes feel wonderfully peaceful, and every day brings a new adventure.

For me, it’s one of the most magical times to explore northern Sweden ❄️.

📸 Want to experience this winter wonderland through your own camera lens?

I’m heading back to Swedish Lapland in February 2027 for a 6-day photography adventure around Abisko! We’ll explore breathtaking Arctic landscapes, chase the Northern Lights, enjoy a snowmobile adventure, and discover some of my favorite photography spots — all in a small group of passionate photographers.

Autumn in Stockholm’s archipelago hits different… 🍂🏝️

There’s something magical about those quiet autumn mornings when the fog slowly drifts between the islands, the water is perfectly still, and the first sunrays find their way through the colorful forests. ✨

I’ve been exploring Stockholm’s archipelago for years now, and mornings like this still leave me speechless.

While most people visit the archipelago during summer, I personally think autumn is one of the most beautiful times to explore it. Fewer people, incredible colors, and a peaceful atmosphere that’s hard to describe.

And sometimes, getting up before sunrise rewards you with moments like these. 📸

Have you ever experienced Stockholm’s archipelago in autumn? 🇸🇪 by @julien.proepper

|Promo| 4 days in the Swedish wilderness, searching for brown bears! 🐻🏕️

A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to join @wildsweden on one of their incredible wilderness expeditions in the mountains of northern Sweden.

We hiked through beautiful autumn landscapes, set up our tents in the middle of nowhere, spent hours patiently looking for wildlife, and cooked delicious dinners over an open fire.

Along the way, we spotted a magnificent bull moose and were even treated to the Northern Lights dancing above our camp! ✨

Unfortunately, the bears decided to stay hidden this time. But that’s the beauty of wildlife watching — you never know what nature has in store for you.

A huge thank you to @wildsweden for inviting me on this adventure, organizing such an amazing experience, and for the excellent guiding throughout the four days! 🙏

It was a wonderful reminder that sometimes the best part of an adventure isn’t what you came looking for, but everything you experience along the way.

Some places just keep calling you back… 🍂🇳🇴

And for me, Senja is definitely one of them!

I’ve visited this beautiful island in Northern Norway several times now, and somehow it never fails to amaze me.

What I love most about Senja is its raw, untamed nature. Dramatic mountain peaks rising straight out of the ocean, rugged coastlines, tiny fishing villages and landscapes that make you feel incredibly small.

And compared to some of Norway’s more popular destinations, Senja still feels wonderfully peaceful and less crowded.

During my latest visit in September, I got to experience the island dressed in beautiful autumn colors. 🍁 The golden and orange tones added a completely different atmosphere to landscapes I already knew and loved.

That’s one of the things I enjoy most about returning to the same places: there’s always something new to discover, especially when the seasons change.

And I’m pretty sure this won’t be my last visit to Senja! 📸

Have you ever been to Senja, or is it still on your Norway bucket list? 👀 by @julien.proepper

Autumn at the Swedish High Coast is something else... 🍂🇸🇪

If there’s one place in Sweden I keep coming back to for autumn photography, it’s Höga Kusten (the High Coast).

With its dramatic coastline, deep forests, rocky cliffs and endless shades of yellow, orange and red, it’s easily one of my favorite places to capture autumn colors in Sweden. 📸

What I love most is the contrast between the colorful forests and the deep blue waters of the Baltic Sea. Especially when the soft autumn light brings the entire landscape to life.

And the best part? There are so many beautiful places to explore, from the mountains of Skuleskogen National Park to the quiet coastal villages and hidden viewpoints along the coast.

Have you ever visited the Swedish High Coast in autumn? 🍁

In the far north of Swedish Lapland, close to the Norwegian border, lies Vadvetjåkka — Sweden’s northernmost national park, with only around 100 visitors per year.

During my autumn trip to Lapland, I hiked from Kopparåsen towards the park and pitched my tent on a hill just outside its boundary, overlooking the incredible river delta surrounded by golden autumn forests 🏕️🍂.

I hiked back the following day, so I didn’t actually explore the park itself — but the journey there was already worth every step!

📍 Here a few tips if you’re planning to visit:

🥾 Getting there: Start at Kopparåsen along the E10, approximately 11 km from the park boundary.

🏕️ Camping: There are no tourist facilities inside the park, so come prepared and bring everything you need.

🗺️ Hiking: The terrain is remote, with no maintained trails inside the park. River crossings can be challenging, especially after heavy rainfall.

🍂 Best time: Summer is generally great for hiking, but late August and September offer beautiful autumn colors.

🚁 All drone photographs shown here were taken from outside the national park.

Would you hike all this way to experience a place like this? 🍂🏔️📸

I think it’s time we finally talk about how terrible Sweden is for landscape photography… 🇸🇪😅

No mountains. No waterfalls. Endless boring forests. Winters that are way too dark. And don’t even get me started on all those little islands and cabins everywhere.

Honestly, I don’t understand why I keep going outside with my camera. 📸

Jokes aside, after all these years of exploring Sweden, I’m still amazed by how incredibly diverse its landscapes are. From the dramatic mountains of Swedish Lapland to the rugged West Coast, ancient forests, remote islands and everything in between.

There’s always something new to discover, and that’s exactly what keeps me coming back.

So, did I convince you to stay away from Sweden? 😏🇸🇪 by @julien.proepper

Imagine spending an entire week exploring and photographing some of the most spectacular landscapes Scotland has to offer… 🏔️📸🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Dramatic mountains, rugged coastlines, waterfalls, ancient castles and those incredible moody skies that make the Scottish Highlands so special.

And of course, enjoying a morning coffee with a view like this. ☕️😁

In March 2027, I’m heading back to Scotland for a 7-day photography adventure to the Scottish Highlands.

We’ll explore some of my favorite locations around Glen Coe and the Isle of Skye, chasing the best light and making the most of whatever the Scottish weather has in store for us.

And that’s one of the reasons why I love visiting Scotland in March.

From beautiful sunshine and golden light to dramatic clouds, rain and even snow — we could experience all four seasons in just one week. ❄️🌦️

With a small group of passionate photographers, plenty of time behind the camera and some truly unforgettable landscapes, I have a feeling this is going to be an epic adventure.

Meditation under the Milky Way 🌌✨

Two nights ago, I found myself sitting by a quiet lake in Dalarna, surrounded by darkness, silence and thousands of stars above my head.

Moments like these remind me why I fell in love with photography in the first place.

For me, photography has always been more than just capturing beautiful landscapes. In many ways, it has become my own form of therapy.

When I’m out in nature with my camera, everything else seems to fade away. The endless thoughts, everyday worries and distractions suddenly don’t matter anymore.

I’m simply there, completely focused on the moment, observing the light, listening to the sounds of nature and enjoying the feeling of being disconnected from everything else.
