… about that production… 🌝

Making Of India Song Part II …

in this house we tracked fire, wind, water…. we experimented, side chained, and @julien_herne aka @surikat_sound did such a beautiful and delicat production with all these sounds…

what a luxury to be able to spend time and deep dive to create together! my favorite thing ever - especially in the middle of nowhere with my favorite producer!

Bonjour you all !

„De son corps de mon corps
de cet amour là, de cet amour mort“
India Song by Jeanne Moreau.

Marguerite Duras: lyrics
Carlos D‘Alessio: composition

What a beautiful piece of art – and I wanted to do it justice while adding a very personal LMF touch.
So I jammed around it, composed while watching the movie… and suddenly it started to feel in sync.
With Julien Herné, we went to the middle of nowhere to arrange and produce it.

With a Walkman, we made field recordings: wind, fire, waves… i played a snare… he tracked.

I guess that’s what I love about creating like this – you shape it, take your time, let it rip… and then it comes to life!

Back home in our studio, Julien wrapped up the production and arrangement. Gauthier came by to play the upright piano, and I recorded the vocals and it felt - right.

The version was ready for Vincent to join with his broken accordina, adding textures and melodies. He painted beautiful motifs and harmonies.. and there it was: our version of India Song was born.

And I’m so excited to share it with you all today!

Bisou,

Lea

Alright, I can’t believe it! “Witch’s Broom” is out today! After more than two years of work, the first tune exists on its own.
It’s yours now.

It’s been an incredible journey to this very day... What started alone in my room - a little seed - began to grow. It ended up with this fat bassline, and suddenly the skeleton existed. Finishing the lyrics with Eric (@kulturstammtisch_ ) in Dijon, around a table with amazing cheese, added the creaminess and the spice.

The skeleton needed clothes and textures, and @julien_herne (art direction & bass) and I gave the witch a nice shiny dress. Recorded @surikat_sound in our basement, @gauthiertoux and @antoine.paganotti gave the witch some wings.

And here it is: flying fierce through space and time.

I’m proud and humbled to share this with you all today.

Lots of love.
