Yes I’m making a ball gown! This blur satin fabric has been in my life for years and I finally realized what I could use it for—a Cinderella-style dress. It’s perfect timing between Halloween coming up and because my new novel is (very loosely) based on Cinderella. I have never attempted a sewing project this big so I am crossing my fingers that all goes well. I’m thinking about how I can alter it to make it a bit more romantasy-ish, and need to order lining and some other items before I begin.

“I do love footnotes.” She wrote a book about a woman studying faeries, was raised by a librarian, and researched her books by reading folklore. Heather Fawcett is a unique gem of an author.

She answered all our probing questions about her new special edition of Emily Wilde’s Encyclopaedia of Fairies.

Of her books she said “The dominant theme is the power of stories.” The fae in her books are governed by stories in the same way we are governed by laws.

“People underestimate how powerful they can be,” she said, noting what we believe can affect the world in so many ways.

Thank you to @thirdplacebooks and @heather_fawcett for a lovely evening.

I got my final book proof in the mail! Finally calling it “done” was a huge moment for me.

My book is a romance / fantasy retelling of Cinderella with faeries, gods, magic, and special powers.

It was so much fun to write, and I’m excited to share it with the world. 😍💝Preorder link in bio!
