Eu me dei conta que havia guardado os vídeos dessa coreografia desde o ano passado: uma alegria que eu mantive só para mim.

Em meio de tantas mudanças pessoais em minha vida: interna e externa, esse grupo me trouxe uma PAZ e ACONCHEGO tão grande que só dançar me basta! Melhor ainda se for para representar minha cultura com música brasileira!!!

I realized that I had saved the videos of this choreo since last year: a joy that I kept just for myself.

In the midst of so many personal changes in my life: internal and external, this group brought me such great PEACE and COMFORT that just dancing is enough for me! Even better if it is to represent my culture with Brazilian music!!!

Vi um vídeo que falava das incertezas da vida e de como devemos seguir nosso coração (como faço), abraçar nosso sentimento mesmo que seja difícil. A minha questão é que nos últimos anos MEUS SENTIMENTOS FORAM MEDO E INSEGURANÇA. Foi, e está sendo, algo primal como se nunca tivesse sentindo medo ou insegurança antes.
Me lembro com clareza todas as vezes que senti esses sentimentos, inclusive a tristeza que surge após eles dissiparem. Todas as vezes esses sentimentos vieram de fora:
- um ente querido que more
- termino de relação afetiva
- mágoas, abusos, violências, descasos
Todas as vezes foram eventos externos que me trouxeram esses sentimentos; porém, agora, eles são reflexo da minha instabilidade. Ondas que ora se enchem e não estouram, ora carregam tudo que vêem pela frente sem racionalidade.

Sentir-me com medo, insegura e triste sem causa externa ou motivos aparentes me abriu um espaço de compaixão tão amplo que não sei se há palavras para explicar.

Se você já viu meu sorriso saiba que nesse espaço também há muita lágrima, dor e luto que ainda sinto.

Minha felicidade não depende da sua, nem da influência externa, assim como minha tristeza, elas são simplesmente uma expressão da VIDA.

ESTOU AQUI PARA SENTIR E EU SINTO MUITO!!

Ser presenteada com essas fotos de @thaissaduartephotoart após escrever esse texto me trouxe significado e acolhimento tão profundo! Imensa gratidão por sua arte e talento!

Lambada, Brazilian Zouk, lambazouk, B-zouk... You name it!

Now living in a somewhat bigger city, I'm noticing how influential, inclusive, and versatile this dance is. One can dance it to words, sounds, or just their imagination. The sky is the limit? I'm sure someone at Redbull will eventually attempt skydiving Zouk.

Me? I'll be here in Montreal enjoying my friends like I am in this video with Smoothee Lambada because dancing in my opinion is a way of connection, and from it friendships bloom like flowers in spring.

Looking at these photos of myself from 2019, before the world shifted and before so many personal tides turned, I felt an undeniable pull back in time. It brought a swell of quiet memories—not just of where I was, but of who I was.
Looking at her, I couldn't help but hold her up against the person standing here today.
So much has changed. Some of those shifts were deliberate choices I fought for, while others were unexpected, unavoidable currents of life that simply swept through and forced me to adapt. Today, while out among the trees, reaching up to gather ripe fruit from the branches, I found myself thinking about the things I wanted to do back then compared to what I long for now.
On the surface, the list doesn't look all that different; but the essence behind it has transformed entirely. What changed wasn't what I’m doing, but the depth and presence I bring to it.

I’ve always been someone who lives reflectively, driven by a deep desire to explore, to experience, to active participate in this life just to know how it FEELS. But if I’m honest with myself, back then, my hunger for life was still tethered to some fear. I spent energy holding myself back, keeping one foot safely on the shore because I was terrified of stepping into experiences that might hurt, or lead to places I felt unprepared to go. I was testing the water, but trying desperately to control the tide.

Today, in 2026, something fundamental has loosened inside me.
I am learning to embrace what is, rather than bracing against what might be. I’m stepping into the flow without needing to script the steps first, letting myself feel what brings genuine joy and allowing unknown parts of myself to flourish—even the parts I’m not entirely sure I know how to handle yet.
Between those two photos, an entire internal landscape shifted. I went from striving to do all the things to simply doing what life is. And in that space of presence, I’ve found the soil to ground.
