Please read if you have seen me as a patient in the last 15 years or so.

It is with a heavy heart I make this request. Joni has been dealing with a GIST (gastro interstitial stromatolites tumor) for the last ten years. Last week she was placed in Hospice as the tumor has taken the upper hand in her body. Most of our patients never knew that Joni was suffering and struggling with her own health trials as she treated them for theirs. It wasn’t until a couple of weeks ago when she actually could not use her arm that she was no longer capable of doing her job without extreme difficulty and pain. Even at that point she was more concerned about me and our patients than her own struggles. Joni Marie (center in the picture) has been my right hand and assistant for the last 15 years. The only way you would have seen me would have been to see her or one of her associates first. I would love for you to take the time and thank her (them) for what she has done for me all those years. She treated all of our patients with care,compassion, dignity and grace. From Cheif’s of State to homeless, richer or poorer, past friend or stranger,neighbor or just passing through, they were all treated with the same care and compassion. She worked tirelessly to make The Iowa Clinic Foot & Ankle Clinic run smoothly and a place patients would want to come to. Joni was usually there before me and also there after me to make sure everything and everyone was attended to and taken care of. I can’t thank her enough for all she has done for me and all the patients that came to see me. She was a blessing to me and I know she we also be blessed when she meets her Savior and Lord! Blessings to you Joni as you feel the warm embrace of Jesus as he welcomes you home.
