Open to beginners & intermediate movers.
No prior dance experience required.

From the shores of Mannar to the stage in Colombo. 🌊🎭

What began as conversations, songs, stories, and shared experiences between coastal community members and theatre artists grew into something powerful for World Oceans Day 2026.

Over days of training, learning, and creating together, the community artists of Mannar transformed their lived experiences into a performance that moved audiences, sparked conversations, and brought the realities of ocean communities to the spotlight.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Stories of the Sea: Voices from Mannar. This may have been the final show for now, but the stories, resilience, and voices of Mannar will continue to travel far beyond the stage.

Special thanks to Beru Art and Cultural Foundation, Adavi Arts Collective, Stages Theatre Group, and most of all, to the community members of Mannar from Happy Voice Hub, the real heroes on stage and in life.

As community artists from Mannar prepare for Stories of the Sea - Voices from Mannar in Colombo, we spoke with Pathum from Stages Theatre Group, one of the renowned artists helping guide the process.
