happy bday to me!

sharing these pics to celebrate my birthday for three reasons:

1. they’re shots of my performance of “Up the Mountain” by @reginaspektor from her new album HOME, BEFORE AND AFTER (available wherever music is sold). Regina helps me understand my heart and the world better every year

2. this first pic is the prettiest i’ve ever felt :) i’m barely wearing any makeup and i look so much like my mom. it makes me feel real

thank you @alexwebsterphoto for capturing these moments with such beauty, fire, and life. i rarely feel comfortable looking at photos of myself, but you always make me feel electric and irresistible ⚡️

3. i’m weak at the knees for some good back lighting

being alive has been more painful for me in the past year, but today i am feeling a vigor to keep at it. i hope to continue to become more rooted in life in this next trip around the sun. to another year of thawing, stretching, building, sparking, and igniting <3

tomorrow we are celebrating three years of shows, magic, music, and COLOR. ILC has become my artistic home of the past three years, giving me space to grow artistically and personally. and three years later, the people who have attended and performed ILC make up of the majority of the people i call my loved ones.
•
can’t wait to celebrate tmrw with so many of the people who have made all this magic happen
