🚨 YOU COULD BE PAYING YOUR CREDIT CARD ON TIME AND STILL HURTING YOUR CREDIT SCORE! 💳📉

Most people know their payment due date. But not enough people understand their statement closing date. 👀

Here’s the difference:

💰 Due Date: Pay at least the minimum by this date to avoid late fees and protect your payment history.

📊 Closing Date: The balance on your statement is often what gets reported to the credit bureaus.

For example, if your credit limit is $6,000 and your reported balance is $2,000, that’s 33% utilization.

But if you pay it down to $300 before your statement closes, your reported utilization could drop to just 5%. 🔥

Lower reported utilization may help your credit score, although reporting dates vary by issuer and results aren’t guaranteed.

The goal isn’t just to pay on time. It’s to understand how credit reporting works.

But here’s what most people overlook: Getting approved is only half the battle. Getting approved on GOOD TERMS is what matters. 💰

Before signing anything, compare interest rates, monthly payments, loan terms, and the total cost of financing. Approval isn’t guaranteed, and some platforms connect you with lenders rather than lending directly.

🚨 Before you start disputing EVERYTHING on your credit report… read this.

Federal law gives you the right to challenge information that is inaccurate, incomplete, duplicated, fraudulent, or cannot be verified. But there is no law that lets you simply delete any accurate negative item because you don’t want it reported. The CFPB specifically warns against claims like that.

Know your rights. Use the law correctly. Protect your credit. 💳📈
