My hands are shaking & I can't stop crying. A book about Korean history & the love of books is a #1 New York Times bestseller??!!

It's wild that one of the most difficult years of my life can coincide with a moment as overwhelmingly joyful as this.

I'm so grateful to my editor, @editrix_em, and my agent, @abw.books, who have been with me through five books 😭💓 What a journey it's been to get here together!

Thank you to the wonderful team at @fiercereads and @jimmccarthy528 for all your support!

Thank you to my husband: my romance books are all inspired by your kindness and love 😭💓 and my eternal gratitude to my inspiring dad, for instilling in me the love of reading, and to my mom, little sister (my role model), and brother the loves of my life.

And from the bottom of my heart, thank you, readers, booksellers and librarians. YOU made this possible.

OK, going to go process this now and cry some more 😭😭😭😭 by @junehwrites

I thought I'd make one of these graphics since I often get asked which books a reader should first start with!

All my books are standalones, and are written to feel like historical K-dramas in book form.

Edit: the cover for BEHIND FIVE WILLOWS is just a temporary cover 😅

📚 : The Red Palace, A Crane Among Wolves, Behind Five Willows, upcoming book in 2028.

Note: Iseul would recklessly save you but also get a person or two killed while doing so. Haewon might not go on a dangerous mission but she would definitely risk her honor to save you.

I read Behind Five Willows by June Hur almost two weeks ago and I’m still thinking about it. 📖✨

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Reading it was like meeting someone new but familiar, like a friend whom you just knew you’d love from the first glance.

I absolutely adored it and the way June Hur writes is beautiful! I have so many favourite quotes from the novel and here are some of them without spoiling the story.

If you’ve read this far, tell me your fave quote from the book. I also hope I’ve been able to make you add this book to your TBR if you haven’t read it. 😬 A buddy read of Behind Five Willows is currently ongoing via Kota Kinabalu Book Club’s Storygraph. DM me for more info!

I haven’t watch many dramas but the vibes from Rookie Historian Goo Hae-ryung seem to suit this book perfectly and so I’ve used some stills from that show for the edits. I hope @junehwrites likes them! 🩷

I was kicking my feet and screaming each time the two leads met and bantered.

HE FALLS FIRST and then when she falls for him too, the female lead is so bold she goes right for the jugular. I love them your honour.

The way she speaks of reading is the soul of every reader.

I need this on a shirt. I will wear it for book club. by @junehwrites

So funny how I get readers who read my entire book thinking it a fantasy novel until reaching the author's note, where they realize they just finished reading a historical fiction 😂

A CRANE AMONG WOLVES is a book that reads like a historical K-drama, about a girl and a prince who team up to rescue her sister from a tyrant king.
