Usually I don’t post with long captions but…Earlier this month, I had the chance and privilege to cross off a bucket list item of mine, which was to swim in Crater Lake (video at end). Crater Lake is the deepest and one of the cleanest lakes in the United States, fed only by rain and snow, and rests at the top of an erupted volcano. The island that lies within the lake is a cinder cone volcano called Wizard Island (which, for scale, is about the same height as Stone Mountain). The only legal access point to the water closes at the end of this year until 2029 for conservation purposes, so…I obviously had to go now.As someone who started traveling solo a LOT this year, words can’t describe how fulfilling this trip was. In addition to visiting some friends (thank you @alexus.d.wright and @connor_wrightt for letting me crash at yalls place!) in Vancouver, WA, I was able to explore some of the most gorgeous natural places I have ever seen (including Multnomah Falls, Crater Lake, and the Oregon Coast).If you know me, you know I could ramble on and on about this journey (and already have to many people). And if there’s anything that makes me feel spiritual, it’s being in nature. This trip gave me so much peace and happiness, and I encourage everyone who has the opportunity to get out and explore nature as much as you can! Unfortunately for my wallet (but fortunately for my well-being), I think I see a lot more of these trips in my future.🏔️Anywho, enjoy the pictures (they barely do these beautiful places any justice) and thanks for reading, if you did get this far. by @junekingmusic
