Chef Craig Murli doesn't use a POS system at June's Pizza (@junes_pizza) in Oakland. Instead, tickets travel from the counter to the kitchen on a zip line—a low-tech fix that keeps his small team moving without the bottlenecks a normal ordering system creates. It sounds like a gimmick, but the "one-piece flow" approach behind it is a real, deliberate operating philosophy, and it works well enough that Murli has stuck with it since day one. Developers want to build a coal export terminal in West Oakland, blanketing Martinez, Richmond, Berkeley, Oakland, and everywhere in between with toxic coal dust.

We’re sponsoring Assembly Bill 40 by @asmmiabonta to mandate a robust environmental review for the proposed terminal. Dozens of community based organizations and environmental organizations have already signed on in support, including @spur_urbanist @sunflower_alliance @eastbaydsa @sierraclub_sfbay @nrdc_org @sfbaykeeper and more.

The fossil fuel industry and their allies are working overtime to get this terminal built as quickly as possible, so we need your support. Go to bit.ly/assemblybill40 (link in bio) to tell your representatives that we need a real environmental review for this coal terminal, BEFORE construction begins.
