UAG because I always finish what I started 🧬

What an absolute privilege it has been these last 4 years! I saw the light at the end of the tunnel and it (thankfully) wasn’t the T coming at me full force. Words can’t begin to describe the immense gratitude within me to have been given this chance to study medical and molecular biology. A million sleepless nights, tears and crash outs later and I’m officially a mcphs alumnus graduating with honors. It feels surreal as a first generation college student coming from a family of refugees where 40 years ago found themselves in the midst of a genocide. Their resilience has served as a constant reminder to myself to persevere through every hardship I encounter and ensure their sacrifice is not in vain.

I’m also eternally grateful for the love and unwavering support my friends, peers, professors and of course family have given me over the course of this journey. Never would I have thought I’d find my lifelong bestfriends or a support system this robust. I really couldn’t have done it without you all. Most importantly thank you to my parents for their encouragement and sacrifice, I may have walked the stage but they have equally if not more earned this degree as I have. I’m beyond excited for the future and the new beginnings to come! Here’s to being one step closer to Dr. Soem 🩺
